Is anybody else concerned about the lack of warranty support on newer graphics cards?
I've been watching Krisfix and Northridge for a few weeks.
The number of high-end GPUs with rejected warranties is a bit of a concern.
A good used Wraith Spire cooler $15...you pay shipping...probably about $4.00 anywhere in USA.. It was used just for the initial setup of my Zen 2 CPU about 35 minutes... then removed and replaced with a modded Hyper 212+
R5 2600X with new in-box unused Wraith Spire cooler and AMD badge. Very little used and with no overclocking $130....you pay shipping...probably no more than $6.00 anywhere in USA.
Save the taxes...save the shipping cost...
Ryzen 5-2600X...never manually overclocked and constrained to 1.38 volt settings.
Yours at $155 with all packaging and an unused Wraith Spire fan...not the cheap Stealth.

s it ever okay for a manufacturer's forum to engage in practices contrary to the customer's best interest?

I ask this question because I own an X470 Gxxing Pxxs...
Did those guys intentionally break the ability to enable PCI-e 3.0 on earlier hardware?
It's rather strange that my 2.5 year old GTX670 works with GEN3 and RMPcieLinkSpeed hack to allow PCI-e 3.0 and my new GTX970 does not.
Selling my super nice monitor.
I hate doing it but must to bring my trucking weight down...moving across country.

Which lightweight browser are most of you guys using with Windows8?
I.E10 seems to be exhibiting the same nagging issue for me as I.E9 did in Win7...(i.e... At random times it will not go back to the previous page when selected with the back arrow, unless I first reload the page using the...
It turns out that if you have any additional non-compliant PCI-e GEN3 graphic card in your computer (i.e for things like physx, multi-monitor, etc...), you must go into the bios and change the effected PCI-e slots to something less than GEN3 to make the settings work. Leave the main GEN3 card...
I got an e-mail today 07-24-2012, thanking me for being a loyal customer for all the years. It basically ended with a statement that my local MicroCenter (Silicon Valley/Santa Clara) had closed yesterday due to not securing a lease. That means no more great deals. Glad I jumped on the I7-3820...
Hopefully folks dealing with XFX and their double lifetime warranty will have better customer service than my friend..
He certainly does not deserve the 'hell' they're putting him through. He's having one heck of a bad experience right now.
I just walked in the door after coming back from his...
Ever see a motherboard that despite all attempts (jumpering clear CMOS, removing battery for weeks, disconnecting power supply, removing BIOS chip, etc..) would NOT clear the BIOS password? I got an older PC from a buddy recently, which I'd planned on making into a retro unit for old games. All...
Hey, what's up with XFX telephone support? I've tried 'solidly' for two days to get customer service with first....an automated message saying they were closed for training (yesterday) and now T/S just closed today. Are they experiencing financial trouble or does this happen quite a bit with them?
I'm prepared to trade my MSI HD6950 (model 2PM2D2GD5) for a 2GB version of the GTX560 Ti. My card was purchased on 04-13-2011. It has never been overclocked. It runs all my other racing sims and everything else extremely fast...except GRID and NFSSHIFT. Neither, in my current configuration...
What system configuration do you find works best for computers with both conventional and SSD drives? Are the performance numbers better with the OS on SSD and games and Apps on regular drives or vice versa?
I just saw this article at another website and wondered if anyone would go along with it... (i.e... pay to try the demo, before actually purchasing the full game). With game cost at around $60.00 in most cases for a good one (CODMW2, BFBC2, etc...) Is it fair to ask the consumer to saddle...
MSI has released BIOS ver# 3.7 for the X58 Platinum. It supports the Gulftown processors as well as a new LAN ROM and M-Flash module update. The board is a solid performer, if you can still find it.
These pictures and measurements are for modding the Antec300 case. It allow 13" of space for installing the new generation of upcoming videocards. The mod also allow for removal of cooling fans with bolt through back plates...without motherboard removal. I personally love the Antec 300 case...
Many factors influence IOH, as well as other chipset temps on a modern motherboard...from case design to heatsink material type. The one thing though, which I've found (in my case) to be of greatest significance is whether I have a custom CPU fan or the 'stock' Intel fan installed. I've been...
Does anybody have one of these Diamond MM HD2600Pro512A (AGP) and if so.... What drivers are you using? A friend of mine purchased one when they were first released and it never came with a working driver on the cd. To add insult to injury, Diamond does not appear to even offer a driver on their...
Best price (including low cost shipping) I've seen so far on this pc and playstation steering wheel.

I'm really starting to hate ATI's arrogance where drivers are concerned. Can't these fu**ing guys ever just put out a driver that installs... with no other bulls**t issues? I just spent two hours loading and reloading different drivers to find a working one ...to no avail on a brand "spanking"...
About two weeks ago I installed Vista Home basic over Windows XP Home on my dual boot machine to finally see what it was all about....the other OS being XP Pro (64bit). I had only one main account under each XP installation... (User/administrator) + one guest, yet Vista will not let me delete...
So I win a 'buy it now' for an HD4870...only the guy sends one to my work address and one to my home accidently...but he only bills me for one. I know it would be morally wrong to keep it, so today I call him and he said "I knew I had two but I really did'nt know what I did with the other one"...
Anybody take advantage of this offer? Sorry for posting here but I don't have the requirements to allow me to post it in deals section....

Has anyone compared the EVGA 8800GTS-640 in an overclocked state to the 'new' 512 GTS in non-overclocked state? I am curious to see what the results are. I am contemplating selling my 'bone-stock 640' card and moving to the 512 version...but at the same time I'm wondering if the 512MB memory...
Turns out that if you buy an Ultra product...power supplies included....you need to hang on to the receipt for them to honor the "Lifetime" warranty, despite the long, drawn-out, convoluted registering process. Why do they have you put all that info into a form if they're going to make you dig...
Anybody here ever experience this anomaly? This is just another reason for me not to like activating any software product. I know it is the wave of the future, but it sucks to high hell. I used my computer normally yesterday...no problem. I did a normal shutdown last night at the end and went to...
Why does ECS make their customers 'jump through hoops' to report problems with a piece of hardware? You'd think they would be appreciative of the fact that somebody caught the problem and brought it to their attention....instead they make you fill out loads of forms, and wait for a case number...
Anybody using these...or heard anything good about them? I've always had great luck with Wintec stuff.....Very curious to see if they perform
