This is one of the weakest attempts to fix a live-service game I've seen since Anthem. None of the new character models look good, most of the costumes look like ass. This is a real "putting lipstick on a pig" situation.

Because it’s too late to fix it. This stuff was planned out even before release. Soonest they could shift to really fix things would be this summer, but it’ll be 100% dead by then.

Yeah, this is the nail in the coffin. It was already doubtful season 1 would really fix the game, but doing what they are doing - It's going to be functionally dead.

A few days before the release of season 1 it was already down to less than 200 concurrent players on steam on average. It has a couple thousand right now, but this content is so garbage that it won't last.

And this game has not been cracked, so quite literally the only way to play it is through Steam. Or Epic, but if Steam has 200 players Epic probably has 10-30.

Should be renamed Suicide Squad: Kill Rocksteady.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Hackers Are Playing with Unreleased Characters and Skins

Publisher Warner Bros. is working to remove images showing hackers using unreleased character Deathstroke, unreleased skins, and even details on gear set to be added to the game in Season 2...this is an obvious concern for Warner Bros. and developer Rocksteady, given hackers are freely accessing content it plans to sell to players in the future...

Perhaps you could call those actions a sort of justice done by a league of heroes. It certainly offers up diversity of gameplay and inclusion of more players to the game.

as a huge fan of Rocksteady's Arkham games I'm disappointed they were forced to make this game that they obviously were not passionate about...the Arkham games had such beautiful craftmanship and attention to detail...the guys making it were obviously huge fans of the source material...Suicide Squad looks like a total cash grab forced on them by Warner Bros....so much so that the heads of the studio left to form their own new studio:

Rocksteady co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker have set up a brand new games studio...it's called Hundred Star Games, and is based in London...it intends to employ around 100 developers to work on an unknown AAA project, and is currently in the process of building up its team and getting it fit for purpose

I really wish they'd been able to make the Justice League game they were rumored to be working on before Suicide Squad was made.

I believe I read that they planning to hire or have already hired a bunch of former Rocksteady folks for the studio so maybe they'll make something that feels like a Rocksteady title.

According to their earnings call, Warner Bros. lost $200 million EBITDA on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In total the game publishing arm of WB had a YOY decline in revenue of $400 million. This perfectly contrasts to WB's success with Hogwarts Legacy in the Q1 earnings call from last year.

WB needs a serious management overhaul. Despite the loss and the massive critical and consumer backlash, I bet WG Games leadership will still be on the "live service" train and will keep doing the exact same things that led to both this and Gotham Knights bombing.

I think they said as much that they're doubling down on live service games earlier this year, learning absolutely nothing from this debacle. You'd think the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy would have taught them that people are more interested in complete single player experiences instead.

Maybe they should stop making garbage decisions? It seems even massive profit losses won't stop these companies from being morons. Just look at Disney.
