YMMV: RT-AC68R router $75 @ Walmart

I'm pretty sure this is my first "Hot Deals" post. This is YMMV, and might be just be at my local Walmart.

A few weeks ago Memorial Day weekend my local Walmart had some stuff on a table and they had 2 Asus RT-AC68R routers marked $99.99 down from $199.99. I thought about it but passed. Sunday I went by there and they still had them for that price. I decided to get one. When the cashier scanned it, it rang up $74.99.

According to a search, this router is still selling for more than $99.99 at other places. Checking on Walmart's site won't do any good. When I checked Saturday it showed my local Walmart didn't even have any stock. I decided to go check on Sunday any way.

I saw this had been posted on slickdeals a week or so ago and I didn't even know it. At last check there were some at other Walmarts near me. Been thinking of getting another to use as a wireless bridge.

Wireless bridges suck ass, always have, always will. Run an ethernet cable to it if at all possible, and having multiple access points is definitely nice. If you can't run an ethernet cable, its still better to go powerline.
