New Steam Won't Install

Now I've tried steam and the Steam installer, and what happens goes like this:

It starts at 29%, loads to 99%, resets to zero, repeats twice, and says server unavailable.

Horseshit. Am I alone here? I'd check their forums, but I keep getting hit with SQL syntax errors.

For three days? At eight in the morning? At midnight? Plus, the part that loads loads quickly.

took me 4 housr to update last night.
When it was finally done it would just crash to the desktop.
So i just delted all the files in the steam folders(i mean all of em) and dragged all the files over from a different pc.
now its working good and everything
