Has anyone ever experienced a failure from this? The heatsink itself bolted on should provide some rigidity to keep the card from flexing under high temps. Maybe they might be more necessary for a folder? Do they provide a small amount of extra passive cooling? The backplates are cosmetically nice though.

Thanks! I also picked up a 770 back plate since I had been lazy about getting one for it for so long.

Naturally the 780 ti classified backplate isn't there.

Luckily I found a 780 classified backplate that fit. AND that still took a good 2 to 3 months to find.
