I am thinking about picking up a new monitor but want to be able to run BF3 well on it. Is anyone playing BF3 at 2560x1440 with 6950s or 6970s? Are you able to max it out? What kind of FPS are you seeing? What about other GPU intense games?

r u talking 2560x1440 over 2-3 monitors or on a single display? I will say i had 3x23inch displays on eyefinity and was playing black ops and mf3 at full setting with no lag what so ever with 2 flashed 6950s

Yes, I've got two unlocked at 2560x1600 on a 30". Plays well. It's not maxed out, but it's close. At work now, but can get you my settings if you wish.

Can get a bit slow when a lot of action is happening on the screen but otherwise is fluid.

That would be great. Thanks man. I wonder how big of a difference there would be between 2560x1600 and 2560x1440.

At most 10%, based on the lower number of pixels at 1440p.

Otherwise, I run my stock HD6950 2GB cards at Medium due to the extra stress the Karkand maps came with. Maybe overclocking and unlocking would get me up to High, but I haven't been bothered with it. My 2500k is at 4.8GHz.

So mine is set at:

2560x1600
Graphics - Auto
Texture - Ultra
Shadow - High
Effects - High
Mesh - High
Terrain - High
Terrain Decoration - High
Antialiasing Deferred - Off
Antialiasing Post - High
Motion Blur - On
Anisotropic Filter - 16X
Ambient Occlusion - HBAO

I don't know what the frame rate is, but I don't have any issues playing.

I'm running two unlocked 6950's (with stock clocks) on my Dell U3011 currently and the experience is not completely smooth. Settings are on Ultra, just no deferred AA.

It seems to be highly map dependant as well. Caspian is much choppier than a more infantry focused map. Things are fine over 60fps, but the dips into the 40's and 30's are frustrating.

If you turn a few settings down and take into account 1440p being less pixels, it would probably work fine. Just don't expect maxed out to be flawless.

I have the U2711, playing BF3 MAXED everything.

In FRAPS monitoring it as I go I get around 22-24fps typically (with some spikes up & down, some maps it stays around 30fps YMMV) BUT I am running a single 6950 TwinFrozr III, OC'd to 975 / 1375.

I have thought about going Xfire but I broke down & just bought a 7950.
