So I have a new 3930k running at 4200 at 1.2v stable under prime. Using an h100 the temps max out at 70c.

Is it just me, or does this voltage seem really low?

Yeah from what I know about that chip that's a low voltage for that speed but your temp is kinda higher then I would think for such low voltage but still well within safe temp

When I had a 3930k it would do 4.4 at 1.215v folding stable, but going above 4.5ghz took 1.4v+. Just the luck of the draw.

My 3930k did 4.2 @ 1.2v with the H100 and also never hit 70C but my house is like an ice box lol

Had to go to 1.4v to get 4.6 stable tho.

My 3930K operates at 4.5 and 1.35v on a H100 and doesn't get too hot even without AC. Also keep in mind that Prime will push temps higher than just about everything else. If you're running at 1.2v then great, but expect that if you go higher, the voltage ramp is sudden and steep.

I'm not going to push it any higher than 4.2 for long-term reliability reasons. I guess Intel really optimized their lithography process. What do you guys think about the different turbo multipliers per number of cores utilized? Maybe 4.4 with 1 or 2 cores, 4.3 with 3 or 4? I've never had to test it out before, how do you know if it's working properly?
