Just for some confirmation on this issue, were you ever able to use ControlControl and to off ASBL on 42C4? Or found any actual proof?
I tried a bunch of the new 32" 4K oled monitors and they all have some kind of various annoying issue I'd rather not deal with and still overall still prefer my...
Yeah I hard its supposed to dim edges. But it's a pretty large chunk of edges for me and it can be pretty dim. Turning it on and off makes a big overall screen differences.
I'll try to post some before and after pictures, maybe it's just my unit being this agressive?
Man. It's almost like a different monitor in some games with CPC Off. I wish they put that in the regular menu rather than service menu, it seems like screen uniform brightness that Asus provides in the typical menu.
But I almost feel like the firmware is bugged or maybe its just my monitor has...
Turning off CPC in the Service Menu as the person mentions in this thread fixed the UI dimming issues I was having in a few games.

Have not tried to see if it makes HDR better yet. So far really like the monitor...
Liking this model so far, but noticing some dimming of the corners during gaming. I think it's some kind of UI dimming algorithm. Anyone know how to enter the Service Menu?
Since it keeps getting delayed and I still really like my 42C2, I stopped caring about getting it "earlier" and reordered with the new 20%+15% LG site deal stacking today. Came out to $1054 total at their site. But, If all the cash back crap works it should go down to $860. Not bad.
Note to get...
I wasn't able to stack any of the cashback extension with each other, but was able to stack one of them (Rakuten 9% today), along with credit card cash back (Bank of America 10% for LG next two days), and the HECAzipcode 15% off coupon at LG checkout (heca+zip code promo at least in the us...
Glossy and it's not even close, for me. I just can't stand sparkly white pages or reduced image quality. Have used both extensively for years.
However my office is perfect for glossy, and there is almost never any glare.
I just checked the bestbuy site every few hours and got lucky. Seems like a paper launch, and stock will ramp up in a month or so. I know the Asus was also a paperlaunch, Microcenter manager told me they got less than 40 nationally lol.
Oh darn I really hated that coating, and I hate fans in monitors. Oh well, that's a pity because this thing looks beautiful and pre-order is still up. I hope to see more companies go no bezel lol. Guess I'll go back to trying to get the MSI and ASUS qdoled each time they go in stock for 5...
So uhh this is confirmed matte, that could be a huge dealbreaker for me. Will it use the same heavy grainy matte on their other OLED?
I'm also hearing rumors it has a fan, is that confirmed?
