So, I have a 2x 8tb WD Reds in my synology box. Only using about 4tb. I happen to pick up a few more 8tb reds when they were on sale. You guys think I should keep them around in case some drives fail? ie, will the 8tb drives still be good in 5yrs? Lol, we might go to a different storage format...

Seems like a lot of availability at msrp now. Gtx 1070 available on nvidia site. 1080ti available at msrp

Anyone still building mining rigs? I made a small profit, but just sold one of my rigs. Got 2 7x gpu rigs left. Does not seem very profitable at the moment. Got the itch to rebuild a 3rd rig with 1080ti

So, guys keep in mind that the miners may still have viruses... For example, downloading the EWBF miner from the megaupload or google drive files sets off windows defender. I was very wary about it using those miners. Instead I downloaded the EWBF file from github via the nanopool repository...

I have 2 small rigs composed of 1070 and 1060 hashing ETH at about 450MH/s. I was getting close to 4 ETH/month, now it's about 2.6 ETH/month. really not worth it, but looking for a better alternative

what are you guys mining with the 1080ti's? zcash? how much power draw when at 60% tdp? are the evga 1080ti black edition ok or do I need to get the SC version? thanks

It definitely is not worth it for mining ETH. Others are mining zcash with the 1080ti's though

yea, that's my next step. too low fan speed. right now it's at 50% speed. The best o/c seems to be my evga 1070 FTW cards. I drop them to 50% tdp and o/c memory to +640. works great. stable too. eBay has 10% eBay bucks. was looking at picking up from 1080ti. now sure it's worth it though. the...

I don't touch the core clocks. I adjust the memory to +602 in msi afterburner and drop tdp (power) to 60%
