Think I saw someone with a 4400+ here a few days ago for $40 shipped. Do a search for 4400.
 
Try to get a dual core opteron. They clock good & you can find them used for a pretty good price.
 
My Opty 170 can do 2.8Ghz on air with ease but you definitely need that DFI special sauce, ala NF4 Ultra...
 
It will depend on your board/bios. My A8R-MVP could run them, but only if I updated to the most recent bios. The stock bios wouldn't handle them.
