I am able to "pin items to the start menu" manually, but it does not automatically at recent items. And it is enable in the start menu properties to remember recent items. That, and I find it weird that it would just clear itself.

I've found that it does eliminate them, even if you ask it to remember, after a certain amunt of time.

Your situation is quite strange though.

Looks like you have modified your theme engine. Don't know if you have it running and how recent it is but I would go back to a restore point.

I just modified the orb logo, and that was awhile back.

Everything else is stock windows

All fixed, no idea how I did it.
