troubles with ubuntu

my ubuntu live discs came in the mail and now im having trouble see i use wireless for my internet and i have the network usb 2.0 54mbs adapter and i looked through everything by all means could not get online i tried device activation i tried putting the cd that came with the thing the one with the drivers on it and none of the drivers or anything

can someone help me
 
What kind of wireless card (brand/model) is this? Generally, USB wireless cards haven't been real well supported yet depending on who made it.

Yup. Post the output of "dmesg" too, it will help us better identify your card.
 
well its a netgear wg111 v2 which according to that list should work out of the box with ubuntu fiesty
