Everyone keeps saying how great the Q6600 is for the price and its awesome overclockability...
However, those were usually said about the older Q6600 G0 steppings... with the older batches and lower VIDs...

Anyone know if the newer Q6600 are as overclockable, will be able to do so at low VIDs etc?
While I know it's mostly luck of the draw.. but I'm asking as a general question concerning the newer 65nm chips...

Thanks and sorry if this was asked before :)

I have my Q6600 G0 (vid 1.3125) running at 3.6ghz with 1.45v. Not quite as low as some of the older batches, but at least it's not taking 1.5v or more to do it.

I got my Q6600 about 2 weeks ago.

I got my Q6600 G0 about a month ago now from newegg.

I was unable to get it to boot past 3.6GHz and unable to get it to do any length of prime95 above 3.4GHz. I tried all the way up to 1.55v (yeah dangerous i know but i was watching closely).

I eventually settled on a "max" of 3.3GHz at 1.45v but wasnt comfortable with that amount of voltage for such a small increase over my last stable config (3.1 at 1.35v).

My VID from coretemp was also 1.3125v.

Makes me sad :( I wanted to give my cousin a run for his money on his 3.9GHz watercooled =/
