Monitor Instead of TV-Wii and dvd player

I'm looking to basically turn my 19in westy monitor into a "tv" for my desk. I'd like to be able to hook up my Wii and a DVD player to it. I'm not entirely worried about quality because my PC can do 1080p and 720p fine.

I was thinking that this cable would work for the DVD player->to->monitor. I'm not really sure about the Wii though. Any ideas?

Why don't you use your PC's DVD-ROM? I don't think that cable is going to work, it says right in the description that it's not meant for PC use.

For the Wii, I use the Vdigi VGA adapter. Works excellent on my monitor.

Well, the DVD player also has VHS. And i'd like to play some of my VHS too. (i just got a MASSIVE VHS collection from the parents. like 800+ movies)
