When you were a kid before your parents, teachers and other adults told you its wrong to fight, what did you want to do when someone took your favourite toy? It's been mentioned, but there are two aspects to this. There's the legal aspect, where everyone under the age of majority is considered incapable of making their own decisions. We all know that this system is far from perfect. There are 12 year olds who are quite mature and generally make good decisions. There are people in their 20's who have such poor judgment that it's a miracle they're still alive. These are the laws that state at 17 years and 364 days a person is a helpless child, but the next day they're completely adults. By this definition, the 11 year old is definitely a minor and not capable of making good decisions.

The other side is the attraction to pre-pubescent children. While it may be debatable how natural or unnatural this attraction is, this "fetish" won't necessarily hurt anyone. If someone is attracted to flat-chested, curveless chicks and acts on it only by having sex with consenting 18 year old really-skinny chicks, I don't see a real problem with that. In my example, it's really just the look of a child that they're into, so I'm not really sure if that falls under "real pedophilia" even...

Personally, I don't think that there's a problem with finding a fully developed 16 year old attractive. On the physical side, they're either developed or they're not. An "adult" body is an adult body... However, doing something with that 16 year old could possibly (depending on the particular 16 year old) be considered taking advantage of a minor's poor judgment. I would consider it abuse of a child to do so.

In this particular case, it sounds like the girl really did use poor judgment and it should probably be considered abuse of a child. With kids maturing physically at younger ages, it's possible that she's not actually pre-pubescent, and therefore I wouldn't necessarily consider this true pedophilia (though it could very well be).

And also as others have said, where were the parents? If you're really that clueless about any product, you probably shouldn't let your kids have it, especially unsupervised.
