Greetings!

Currently I've been gaming on this Acer x223w for about 2 years. My last room mate had a thing for 27" screens, first a Hans G and now a View Sonic. After seeing all that screen glory I started looking at both 24" and 27" panels.

Here's my problem... I can't just go out, buy a monitor, and be fine with it like he did. Now that I'm looking at my monitor as a main component rather than "that thing I need at the end of my rig build so I can look at shit" it's become this HUGE rabbit hole of information and it's a bit overwhelming.

Theses informations will help you guys help me in choosing a monitor:

1. 1920 x 1200 only
2. I play games, and only single monitor, viewing angles aren't that important to me since I'm only ever straight in front of my monitors.
3. My graphics card is only a 1gb 4850 but I've been considering an upgrade to the 2gb 6970 if I don't upgrade, will I have trouble playing games on this new monitor?

Been considering this one:
~HP ZR24w
and this one:
~HP Promo LA2405WG
was considering some Dell models until I read so much crying over the AG coating... now I'm hesitant.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I don't want to spend more than $500, but I was entertaining the idea of that Planar PX2611W on Amazon for $706. I just really don't know what to do.

I tell you, for the money I really like the 2511x and 2711x, I picked up the 2511x just a couple weeks ago, nicest monitor that isn't a ips. I like the 27" but at 1080p I thought it wouldnt have the pixel density Im used to, plus I sit pretty close to my monitor. You have a large budget, but for gaming I wouldnt be looking at the models you mentioned, I think those are better for graphic design, CAD, etc. I paid 250 for the 25" model, but seen today under HFs hot deals, that same model is $213 on Amazon today! If you have a microcenter, or nearby store Id say go look at one in person. Online ratings can be very subjective regardless of product/sku!

Thanks for the advice mate. Those both look real nice, and with the price tag on the 2511x today I'm tempted to get 2... I know it's not 1920 x 1200 but it sure is good value.

Unfortunately the nearest microcenter is about 4 hours away, so the next time I go there will be in maybe 6-8 months for a whole new rig.

Anyone else wanna weigh in on this? I was pretty surprised to see such high views and only one response.

So I nearly bought this monitor over Christmas holiday and I keep coming back to it:

Please more advices!!

Or what about this one:

And then I come full circle and think of this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153

Cheap, $200, great reviews... so what if it's 16:9 right?

Ugh I hate this. Been trying to figure this out for 12 hours today.
