hey, i have a friend and he has a 2.0ghz pentium 4. his mobo doesnt like him anymore and he wants to buy a new mobo. he has 768mb of SD-RAM. ( 1x512, 1x 256). he wants to get new mobo. but he doesnt want to change his ram because he says he payed a lot of money for it. he wants to find a new mobo that supports sd ram, but i couldnt find shyt. can anyone tell me where i can buy a mobo that supports :(

There are not many new P4 boards that take SDRAM. The one that I know is the Asus P4SGX-MX. It takes DDR and SDRAM. It has 2 slots for each type of ram (so 4 total). You CAN NOT use both DDR and SDRAM at the same time. I don't know how fast or effective the P4 will be with SDRAM, but since it does take DDR also, he can decide to purchase and use DDR (PC2100) if he wants to. Newegg used to carry them, but I don't think they have anymore. The only place I found that still sells them is http://www.directron.com/p4sgxmx.html .

ECS p4s5a, i had one of these before getting an abit it7 max 2 and later my shuttle.

it was a decent mobo, and it takes ddr and sd ram, so if he wants to upgrade to ddr later he could. as long as the cpu is 400 or 533 mhz fsb it will work fine, my p4 2.0 is a 400mhz northwood ( i am still using it as my main pc and it is great); this cpu worked great on that board, i just wanted to do overclocking which you cannot do with the ECS. btw, i got my p4 2.0 up to 2.67 with the stock cooler :)

so long story short check out the p4s5a, like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44943&item=3495394168&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
