Epoxy Resin Desk

I'm wanting to epoxy resin my desk, nothing fancy just maybe pictures, stickers, etc. underneath. I was wondering how solid it is as far as attaching desk monitor mounts with the clamp? Would the clamp "break" the resin? Do I really need two coats for a desk that's inside the house and most likely wont get wet or anything spilled on it? I've seen videos on how to apply but some people use one coat others use two. I'd be more inclined to do epoxy if it was just one coat because I'm pressed for space and time. Just wondering if anybody has experience with sealing this way or sealing with any other way like acrylic clear spray cans, hodgepodge, etc... Thanks !!!!! I WILL be doing something this weekend so will update soon. Looking like it's going to be stickers/pictures and one coat (not too thin or thick) of epoxy resin.

I'd worry it would end up tacky or not be that chemically durable. They do look cool though...
Bartop epoxy is super durable both physically and to chemicals. Its not terribly difficult to use correctly just pay attention to the instructions and ambient temperature when pouring.

You can make one coat as thick as you want there is no need for multiple coats.

It can be difficult to find a good epoxy for this in store. Plenty of one's available online.

Polyacrilic can accomplish something similar to what your looking for but epoxy is much nicer if you have access to it.

Time (literally can't have more than 24hrs without desk), money (5x or more for epoxy), temperature (not bad in garage 60 degrees F @ night) are telling me to wait on the epoxy. I've had stickers on the desk for years with little issues now that I think about it so willing to try the cheap'o version. This would give me time to practice epoxy on smaller pieces before I do my desk. Plus I may not have an "eye" for decorating :ROFLMAO:

I covered it today. I don’t know if I should try matte or glossy polycrylic…

All done. 3 coats polycrylic glossy. Not perfect but good imo. Edges peeled up on 2 stickers so just pot a bolt on top of it to weigh it down while coat dried then continued coating without normally. Some streaks from brush( foam brush) but only when you look at the reflection of light- pic of it below. Only bad part is my monitor stand will cover my flavor town sticker…
