Did you buy yours from "Cecil"? He was binning 9900k xhips and installing the copper heat spreader back in 2/19. If so, it is probably a great chip. Mine has been runing at 5.1ghz @ ~1.33v for more than 2 years. GLWS.
I have a EVGA 2080ti FTW3 hydrocopper and am looking to possibly trade for a RTX 3090 plus cash on my side obviously...needs watercooled or block readily available.
If you have one and you are willing to sell it for a non absolutely absurd price, please let me know. Depressing looking at a new build running a 750ti and I have given up on a 30X0.
An AIO is definitely capable of cooling this chip. These are all using a push/pull Corsair H115i on an open bench at 5.1GHz 1.325v 0 AVX offset. The only thing it could not handle was Prime95 w/ AVX which is a pretty unrealistic load for most people. These were while I was testing my setup on...
9900k 5.1GHz 1.33v w/ no AVX offset. Memory 4200 17-17-17-37. Chip has been delidded with copper IHS installed and is under a Heatkiller IV block on a loop with a EKWB D5 and Hardware Labs GTX 420mm+280mm.

I bought my chip from someone who was doing a round of binning. It was sold to me as a 5.1Ghz chip dellided with a Rocketcool copper IHS installed. It seems to be as advertised. I appear to be 24/7 stable at 5.1Ghz (no AVX offset) at 1.32v with x47 cache and memory running 4200 17-17-17-37.

Well...I ended up making the title of this thread accurate in the long run. I swapped to the 9900k z390 setup and stuck with the EVGA Dark boards but changed my CPU block to a Heatkiller IV Pro Copper NI...
Well, there is a giant picture of 4 dimms, a picture of the box showing 4 dimms, and a part number that is only applicable to 4 dimms, but I see your point. I'll add it.
I know this is not exactly on topic, but here is some Apex footage I grabbed earlier today while testing something. This is with a 2080ti, max setting except shaddows, and is being captured using NVENC. The 5 minute file was just shy of 2gb. Frames capped using rivatuner at 97fps.

I just ordered a backplate from Germany a few days ago. If I would have seen this first we could have split the international shipping. It should be here next Monday.
I saw around a 25-30% bump going from 1080ti to 2080ti @ 3440x1440. The new NVENC chip and the new versions of OBS designed to take advantage of it has really impressed me. I never saw NVENC video quality like this out of my 1080ti...
What is the max temp you have seen? Have you had a chance to do any extended testing or gaming? Just wondering what the temps are when stabilized under max load.
It is not using the "A" binned chip and will not work with a bios made for the "A" binned chips. It cannot be flashed with a higher power limit bios because they are all for "A" chips.
