Besides the cool wow factor of running SSD's in RAID0, there is really no real world, daily value you'll see compared to a newer drive of large capacity. While day to day use, games, media viewing will benefit with the faster access speed for loading, the real use I could see anyone using a...
I've been running 6x of these same drives, 2TB models, with different firmwares with no issues. Unless you find something specific about a certain firmware having uses, I won't worry about it.
Heres mine:

Grub will boot into say, OI "6" on the first reboot after napp-it install without any user input; which is why I think we are seeing these errors. Selecting the first menu option in grub brings a post napp-it install boot into view, but AFP installs are disappearing after install and reboot.
Had the same problem since using the newest napp-it stable. Once I installed and reboot, needed to go back in grub and select the first install listed and it worked. After installing APF and rebooting in any of the selections, I still get nettalk not installed in services. Only had this...
After much google and you tube videos, I have come to ask the advice of the pros. I had better performance expectations for my current setup in the area of through put over iSCSI between my ESXi 5 host and shared storage SAN/NAS. I have attached as many screen shots and listed the settings and...
I just got this board from the open box deal on newegg yestersday.
I can't get it to boot with all 4 dimms in though, only 2x4 in the first two slots closest to the cpu socket. I get an error 45 on the little LED error code TPM gadget. Heres the ram I'm using...

Just buy the cable, and run it off the back of the motherboard's esata port through one of the PCI sheild slots so you can mount the drive inside your case. No need for an external. Check out the "HP ProLiant MicroServer owners' thread" in this sub forum. People have done the same and you can...
This is strange, getting some weird console errors(?) after installing vmware tools in Solaris Express 11, and installing napp-it with the vmxnet3s adapter.
Is this normal?
Both, a Intel EXPI9301CTBLK, and did a reinstall with AHCI active. I was thinking, my Hyper-V install runs some VMs off a Raid1, one being a WHS install with a pool of 4x Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS 2TB 5900 RPM. I'm moving away from WHS to ZFS, so I want to use these drives.
Should I...
Got a pair of Intel PCI-E nics, and heres the results coming from my netbook:

Here is another test, on dedicated hardware:
Looks no better, so my guess is the switch (DGS-2205 5-PORT 10/100/1000) being "green" is causing some performance issues. Gonna try and upgrade it this weekend and see if I can get some better results before moving everything over.
I've been lurking Hard Forums for about a year now, so I thought it was time to register and share my goodies for some fun and advice.
Using Bonnie I got the following benchmarks of a 5 disk, Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 raidz1-0 with the included hardware:
