I'm still using the power buttons that I got from Beaflag VonRathburg. I'm eyeing that D-Link router too. Just gotta come up with a little extra funds in the "mad money" account.
I'm wary of doing my first loop on hardware this expensive. I'll consider it though.
I did find a case that Google says supports 3 360 radiators though, the NZXT Flow 9
I'm thinking about a nice big case that supports two 360mm rads for the GPUs, Gigabyte makes one with a 360mm AIO, plus an NH-D15 for the CPU. Probably nothing over a 14600k for a CPU though with that cooler. Mine gets up to low to mid-90s while folding
Does anyone have any experience with running two or three AIOs in the same case? I see plenty of cases on Newegg that support AIOs in multiple spots but nothing to say if you can run 2 or 3 of them at the same time (two GPUs and CPU). Googling is not giving me much either.
So, dual Xeons or just a single current-gen CPU if only running two GPUs?
This will be a full-time 24/7/365 folding@home box.
Water cooling would be nice but my only experience with it is using the occasional AIO so I'm not sure about going that route.
So, I still am waiting for the last house to sell to get my inheritance from when my Mom died.
I want to build something for folding at home with multiple RTX 4--- GPUs to do cancer research.
What's the best plan of attack to get the most PPD for the least heat production?
I don't want to walk...
I ran Star Wars Galaxies emu with this and it looks pretty cool. Some of the lighting effects are amazing. There are still some big issues such as walking into a room in some areas and the room being pitch black except for the one lighting source in the middle of the room. Humanoid faces appear...
Awesome. I made it to the top 89 on the final day. I was hovering around the 100 spot each day. Adding my new GPU did make some difference on the last day.
I have big plans for next year!
edit: Just for some detail, I was running an rtx 4060 and a 14600k for most of the race then I added an rtx...
I'm thinking about it. I have a problem with my vision (mostly at night) and I've hit 2 deer in the last 3 months so I may need to get someone to drive me. I drove today but was freakin' out the whole way. I have an appointment with the VA to have things checked out but it's not till April. I'm...
So, I got my new GPU folding and I never noticed this before but the client says that its performing like 30% less than similar cards. Is this normal when it hasn't ran through many WUs?
Just noticed that I didn't get a super. I got a regular 4070ti.
I stopped at Best Buy because its half way to Microcenter and because the price was the same I didn't notice I picked up the non super card.
I can't decide if I want to take it back and go get the super or not. I'm just trying to...
Oh man, I may not be able to make it to MC tomorrow and may have to go on Wednesday. Not a big deal except that is the launch of the 4080 Super. I'm going to be so tempted but I don't need to spend the extra money on a GPU. 1st world problems, eh?
I'll be going to Microcenter on Tuesday. So far it looks like Asus is the most recommended followed by Gigabyte. I may have to go with the next pricing tier up as the stock has dwindled on the 799 cards but that's okay.
So, Microcenter has a few RTX 4070 ti supers at $799.99 ( PNY Verto, MSI Ventus, Asus Tuf, Gigabyte Windforce, and Zotac Trinity).
I've never had a PNY or Zotac, but I've used cards from the others before.
What are your thoughts on which offers the best performance and reliability?
Besides...
I put a peltier on a Geforce DDR back in the day. Got the GPU and peltier at San Diego Computer show. I don't know how I didnt fry everything since I had no idea what I was doing with it.
Looks like it. I wont have an RTX card till the end of the month so I can't mess with it yet.
Here is a list of compatible games that looks like it was compiled before open beta that I found on r/RTXRemix
Maybe I'm missing something but if my 14900k was doing wonky stuff and I had to tweak things to get it work I'd RMA it. I've read this thread off and on so maybe I missed some of the details.
I plan on picking up a 4060 for $299 at Microcenter soon to hold me over as I have no GPU currently. I was going to get a 4080 super but I need a downpayment for a car too
Of course I "plan" on picking up a 5090 at launch.
