Some say that FreeSync works in windowed borderless mode if the frame rate is 65 FPS or higher. Others say that FreeSync can work in windowed mode for some games, but only in fullscreen mode for others.
FreeSync was developed by AMD and first announced in 2014 to compete against Nvidia's proprietary G-Sync. How old is the monitor? Not all monitors that are G-sync ready can support Freesync as well. Using the display port I assume? Not all HDMI's were compliant.
Damn Intel, make up your mind....
I'd like to get a grasp on this and tame my systems to promote longevity. Otherwise, I may just trade my 14700k off for a 13400 and some cash. I don't need to be that much of a rush to complete renders.
Makes me very curious what Intel has next. I had avoided Intel since the 4820K, X79 setup I had. (which I loved) It wasn't till I got my hands on a 12400 b660 box that I decided to give Intel a try. I liked that 12400. Easy to cool and did it's job.
Probably sell the 13600K and stick with the...

I'm sure he is still laughing in the afterlife
I knew there was a newer variation.

Point being by Intel, this is the way
And here I thought I was slowly switching back to Intel.... (sigh)
Updated the Asus BIOS's on both my Intel boxes. Good to see that my results seem normal compared to everyone else's updates. Slightly slower and still stable at the same temps as before the update.
Sounds fair.....
I played a bit last night. Started a new game, no mods. Played ok. No huge change from the last time I played it, except running 1440 instead of 1080.
Played until I got stuck in the Minutemen buildings basement. Dog all runnin around, all happy go lucky, while the char is stuck staring at the...
That was one of the reasons I hadn't jumped on the Qnap switch, yet. I may still acquire one.
It's been a pita trying to decide on a 2.5g switch for my home use. I have 6 boxes armed with 2.5g and a lot of file transfers. These cheap ones seem like a deal, but I never could bring myself to bite.
I would think that is subjective, I have had both of those brands over the years and liked them equally.
With the exception of the Dan A4...... I hate that case, but I love it when I don't have to put my mitts in it.
My 13600K at stock I can keep under 50c with a AIO 280. My 14700k (also stock) will run higher than 70c with an open loop, better block and 360 rad. Difference of 125 watt vs 250 watt cpu's.
The 14700k is a nice CPU and all, but it comes with some cons as well.
I noticed that as well. I thought about running it on my 14700k box and maybe on a box with an AMD flavored gpu, just for giggles. If I have time tonight.
After looking at that again, the refresh rate is incorrect. Should be 165
Delidding helps,

I was thinking of the 8600g, but now I may lean towards the 8700g
I have an extra 420 rad......
I disagree, there are decent aio that fit in sff quite well. I'd bet the one in my Dan A4 could keep well within temp specs without worry.
I understand the point about price, however, some PC enthusiast's don't really care.
Yes I believe the 8600G is probably the better deal, but haven't you...
