So this is a real time 3D graphics demo I put together in one week. Uses real time global illumination in Godot Engine.
Should work with cards as old as a GTX 1060 6GB, but if you want the graphics in the image above you'll probably need an RTX 2080 Ti or better. You can download for free on...

Maybe I am missing something, but isn't this just 1:1 pixel mode? Meaning what we could do on LCD monitors since like 15 years ago?
ASRock Challenger Pro Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 - $300 (US ONLY)

Note: this is a special deal for long-time members with lots of posts. If you haven't been here for a while and you don't know who I am, then don't bother messaging me.
This is a real time graphics demo I made in about 1 month using the Godot Engine.
I think it turned out well, and is optimized for high end graphics cards. I can get 60FPS at 4K on an RTX 3060.
Please check it out if you want something new to try (you can download for free)...
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-to-introduce-radeon-super-resolution-rsr-technology-that-works-in-all-games
This is amazing and what I've been saying forever. In January AMD owners will have FSR automatically in every game!
Though you can already do this with mods, it will be cool to have an...

I love GNOME Image Viewer (Eye of GNOME) because it is so minimal and functional. I've tried other image viewers but they are too cluttered.
But one thing that was bothering me is that when you navigate through the images (by pressing the arrow keys or clicking next) it defaults to alphabetic...

Just upgraded to an RTX 3060, this card was just removed from the system, fully working. No overclocking, no mining.
Would like to deal only with people I know. Please PM me if we've interacted on the forum before. Thanks.

Windows 11 isn't even out and TPM has been hacked. LOL.
However, this is a pretty sophisticated attack and requires physical access and special tools.
So Valve has confirmed ray tracing support for Steam Deck.
https://wccftech.com/steam-deck-supports-ray-tracing-vrs-and-other-stores-programmer-compares-it-to-xbox-series-x-in-power-per-pixel/
Anyone what to guess the kind of performance we will see? 30fps or 60fps?
Also, ray tracing is iffy...
So I've been dual booting for a few years, and went full Linux on my latest AMD machine I built a few days ago.
On thing I have noticed, playing games on Proton (even with slightly less fps) seem to feel smoother or more responsive on Linux (Ubuntu) than Windows 10.
Not sure if it is placebo...
Couldn't take it. I bought a GPU off a scalper. The XFX Speedster MERC319 6800XT.
Cost me $1,500 but I should be able to sell my 2080 Ti for a decent price, so it won't be too bad.
No, I don't feel great about it, but I had a little extra money this month and decided to treat myself.
For some reason, I was sure I tried this before (and it didn't work) but I'm able to burn Blu-Ray discs in Ubuntu just using the file manager (like a USB drive).
I guess people don't care about optical media anymore, but I like it as a second backup, and I had the burner already. Really happy...

So much for being "unhackable"...
EDIT: Looks like it was fake news... oh well, carry on.

I've been wanting to try the Innovation Cooling Graphite Thermal Pad and I finally got a chance. It works great.

The machine I'm using in a Mini ITX board with a 4790K and GTX 1060 6GB...
Just got one of these, it's pretty slick. Can play basically any game 16-bit or prior.
Though I guess people are kind of stuck in the house, but this would be awesome for public transport.
https://www.theverge.com/2020/12/10/22167303/cyberpunk-2077-ps5-console-google-stadia
I just went and played the first hour of cyberpunk on Stadia and it was actually alright.
Granted, it looked more like a video stream than a real-time game, but it was totally playable.
Surely, if you have a...
So I've been trying to switch to Linux for about 2 years of dual booting. I was on Ubuntu for about 6 months straight last year, and then went back to Win 10 for gaming.
Windows was bothering me for the usual reasons, so I was distro hopping for a bit. Tried KDE Neon (which was decent)...
I'm interested in the new RTX 3080 or maybe 3090. However I wonder if there will be Linux drivers at launch.
Anyone else buy a new Nvidia card at launch that can comment how long it took for Nvidia to release a Linux driver for it?
I tried Radeon Chill when it first game out, and all it seemed to do was hurt performance, so I wrote it off.
However, today I was looking into setting a frame cap with AMD software only (having problems with MSI Afterburner, but that is for another thread). I found Chill actually works!
I...

Anyone know anything about this monitor? Can do 4K 144Hz on 1 DP cable and Semi-HDR (not certified)
So I have two new displays, one is 10-bit native and the other 8-bit + dithering.
In games (especially in HDR) I believe I see a difference (like in the smoothness of the sky gradient) but I'm wondering if it is placebo.
For example, if you have a desktop wallpaper, the JPEG image must be...
So I just stumbled upon this monitor, the LG 32UL500-W, and it seems like an amazing kit for only $329.
32" 4K UHD resolution, FreeSync, HDR10 (not VESA certified), 10-bit color, DCI-P3 95%, low lag for a 60Hz panel.

So I recently purchased the Aorus CV27F. A 27" 1080p VA panel at 165Hz for $319.
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012008?Item=N82E16824012008
Marketing was good on this product, checked a lot of boxes: 10-bit color, high refresh, 1ms response, HDR, FreeSync 2, etc.
There were almost no...
So my new LG monitor is HDR 400, and I love it, but I'm interested in at least seeing what HDR 1000 looks like in gaming.
What would be the best way to test out a set to see if I'm missing anything?
I usually don't like using store return policy as a rental program, but what options do I have...
So I have purchased this monitor, the LG 34GN850-B: https://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitor/lg-34GN850-B
It's 3440x1440, 160 Hz, FreeSync 2 / G-Sync Compatible, HDR400, IPS w/ 1ms response. Overall I am enjoying the monitor, it just came in this afternoon and I have tested a few games. Note my...
I'm currently using an LG 34UC89G-B, which is a 34" 2560x1080 IPS 166Hz panel.
I am happy with the monitor, but I'm interested in HDR and also maybe going up to 3440x1440.
I did some searching, and this monitor looks nice but it got some bad reviews...
So I've been dual booting Win10 and Ubuntu for about 2 years, and switched over almost exclusively on Ubuntu for 6 months. At first, things seemed great but I have consistently found little problems with Ubuntu that made me question using Linux at all.
Namely, I could not get smooth desktop...
DOOM Eternal Tested on Low-end Graphics Cards
"When it comes to really old GPUs, AMD delivers the best results with relics like the HD 7970 never dipping below 50 fps in our test.
The R9 380 was extremely impressive with an average of 70 fps. To think this GPU once did battle with the GTX 960...
Found this awesome video of Black Mesa with a post-process ray tracing shader.
Honestly looks better than some "real" ray tracing I've seen. Amazing what can be done in a shader.
Though I don't play competitively anymore, I do like that 360Hz will now be a thing.
https://www.theverge.com/2020/1/5/21050309/asus-nvidia-360hz-gaming-monitor-rog-swift-360-ces-2020
And, yes, before it starts, I have a 240Hz monitor and I can see a difference. Cheers.
