I have been building pc's since 1999. My two previous machines lasted almost 10 years. My current main machine was built in 2017 and still kicking it. It can take 3 more years easily. So yeah they can live up to 10 years if you take good care of them.
Edit: I have a synology NAS storage device...
Oh, so the windowed panel can also fit? So they have two panels to close this case. I didn't know this. How do you mount this? Standard screws? I'll go check the case. Maybe I need to remove the hinges used to mount the windowed panel.
The first time it was me actually. Didn't really do...
I can disable the cloud account using the NVR settings that's no problem. But I want to still be able to use the app, that's the problem.
NVR is UNV NVR302-16S2-P16
This is the case:

You can see how it shattered down below.
I used this case to put an old system in it. The glass side panel strangely broke when I was installing it. You can see how it shattered down below. I bought a replacement panel...
Yeah I also use port forwarding and noip DDNS to view some of my cameras from outside. It is not the safest option though. So your cameras get their IP addresses from the NVR?
I have an NVR with 9 cameras attached to it. The NVR has its own NIC and DHCP enabled and is providing ip addresses to the cameras but using different subnet. This setup was provided to me by a local shop. I have other cameras connected directly to my router via wifi and I can access them...
Are you in close proximity with others? WiFi can work without the antenna because the metal connector can work as an antenna. The antenna is basically a conductor wire. If you disable the wifi adapter and disconnect the antenna, the chances someone is getting into your machine via wifi are very...
I don't do gaming in linux but Ubuntu and linux mint should do very well. I myself was amazed by linux mint cinnamon. It installed all my programs and drivers just like if it was windows.
I like linux and it has its uses which are many, but windows is still dominant in the desktop and you go with the flow. I wish they just kept on updating 7.
Mice last at least 5 years for me. Not so many went bad on me since the introduction of optical/laser mice, I just replace them after too much wear/tear. I like the rosewill mouse and have been using it for some time now...
I only tried windows 11 in a VM few times. Didn't like it and kept on using 10 for most of my machines. But I'd like to know what makes it windows 7 like because we will have to switch one day. I see that shutup is still being used and MSMG Toolkit is some good tool to use. Do they have...
Google Bard answer is frustrating but I still enjoy talking to AI bots 😁
While a very expensive water cooling loop can certainly help you achieve higher overclocks on your AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7970X, pushing beyond the 5-10% range comes with increasing risks and diminishing returns. Here's a...
What is it that you want to show with this screenshot? Is the cpu heavily overclocked? Its turbo frequency is 5.6 GHz and what I see in cpu-z is 5.7GHz. It will outperform others in multi-thread because it has more cores.
I can't believe we are having such an issue with a flagship product. So what are you supposed to do to avoid the problem if you are planning to buy a 4090? This connector comes only for the 4090? The cable with its connector comes with the PSU or the 4090? I guess it comes with the card since it...
What happened to websites like pricewatch.com and pricegrabber.com anyways??? They were really good to find the item you want for the best price at the moment you are searching. They no longer work now. I wonder if we have a good alternative nowadays.
In EK,
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/checkout/cart/
you can use the online configurator to build a loop yourself. It wasn't working at the beginning but they helped me getting it to work. I got what you see in the image:
While I was configuring this, it said the cooling power of this selected...
I have seen different opinions. Some say it depends on whether AMD will enforce it or not. I mean if AMD wants, they can deny replacements for anyone who burned the fuse.
For me, even if the entry price is high, you would still want to overclock. It is part of the fun.
I'm using expressvpn, so what does it mean if they have been bought by an ads company. I'm sick of companies degrading in performance after being bought by larger companies.
Will be good if somebody can provide assessment for expressvpn. I have been using nordvpn before but they no longer work...
Guess I will have to wait till prices go down for some reason, or maybe buy a used one from a good source. I just can't pay a price much higher than retail.
I wish I'm near a microcenter! What manufacturers? ASUS, Gigabyte? Isn't it weird to find it near retail price in microcenter and almost double the price in some online stores like newegg?
Yeah, it is a huge amount of watts to cool. But I'll have to wait and see how much it does actually draw and what sorts of temps I will get while at stock and under load.
I see. So EK are little pricey and not every buck is justifiable. I was referring to this block:
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-magnitude-strx4-full-nickel
That's just too expensive.
Do you guys think its price will lower in the coming few months? Or maybe sometime next year?
I see it reaching ~ 2700$ in newegg which is insane compared to the MSRP:
https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007709%20601408874
The 5000 series launch date is still away, right? Hopefully its price...
If you have a large enough case, can you just daisy chain radiators without worrying about changing something else in a pre-configured kit? I mean will adding more radiators require for example more pump power or anything like that? Also, regarding fans, I used to get gentle typhoons which were...
I see. Not only you need a huge power supply or two, you also need some serious custom watercooling loop.
I was trying to explore options and make it easy on myself, but this last sentence of yours made it clear. Thanks.
