Yeah, I got an email the other day from evga for the 3090 queue, let it pass onto the next person after 20hrs as I already have one.

$3 a day right now based on my 3090. I also have electric heating so power bill isn't much different if mining vs not mining in winter.

I will say one of the downsides of 8k for desktop / photo / video work is you instantly see how low res a 24mp 6k photo sensor is. With that being said 8k raw video off an EOS R5 looks outstanding on it.

Ordered one of these new sabrent usb-c to hdmi 2.1 adapters and can confirm it works at 8k60 8bit rgb out of the usb-c port on my zotac 2080ti. Figured i'd post a heads up on it since previously the only other option was the club 3d adapter that needs external power and is very glitchy...

In Resolve, for things that actually make use of the GPU, dual 2080 ti's beat a single 3080/3090, also much cheaper to buy a 2nd used 2080ti than the 3000 series right now, too bad they dont have hdmi 2.1...

If there was a reliable way to get 8k60 out of a 2080ti I would skip the 3000 series, too bad the club3d adapter only works for 4k120 and 8k30.

There are tons of generic demo reels and test shots if you search for canon r5 8k on youtube. It shoots 8k30 raw.

Planned on getting a 3090 but the miners ruined that for me, when they are available again at retail msrp I'll get one. On an ek watercooled zotac 2080ti, using the club3d displayport 1.4 to hdmi 2.1 adapter. The adapter doesn't always work right though and needs lots of power cycles to reset...
