Adding the MSI MPG-321URX to my list of possible new monitors. Coming from a Gen2 Gsync monitor, am I going to notice the lack of Gsync using just VRR?
Not even tried that yet :) Just been testing out some games. Cyberpunk 2077 maxxed with DLSS3 on quality is ridiculously beautiful. Even at 1440p.
*edit* Marquee is excellent :)
Just fitted the above mobo. When I was initially looking at it, I was sure the configuration stated it had a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Looking at it now, it does not appear to.
What am I meant to do with a Soundblaster AE-5?
*edit* nvm, sorted. Me being dense :)
Looking for something that's reasonably quiet, but good performance for a 14700KF. I'd originally wanted an Arctic Freezer II, but it won't fit on an ASUS Strix 790-E, and I'm not prepared to file or drill a £450 motherboard..
Any suggestions?
*edit* original post was for a 280mm solution for...
Well, Arctic support have said categorically that the 280 won't fit on most current Asus 790 models, there's not enough clearance around the CPU socket. So I'm now looking at the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS Master, which isn't on their 'incompatible' list, but also seems as good as the Asus.
As part of my new build, I was planning on getting an ASUS ROG Strix Z790-F/13700K, with an Arctic Freezer II 280 cooler. However, I've been reading about incompatibility issues with some 690/790 series motherboards (Asus, quite a lot). While some folk say you can just remove the PCB header on...
So put the 990 in the current build (which has the 970 as primary), clone the 970 > 990, then put 990 in new build, let windows adjust and format the 970? The plan is the 990 as primary in new build with the 970 as secondary. That sounds logical. I'd normally always do a clean install, but...
I'm looking at this for a new build soon. Already on Windows 11. Current OS is on a 970, that's getting relegated to 2nd SSD. New SSD is a 990. Am I best doing the new build with the 970 as boot and the 990 as 2nd, let W11 sort itself out on the 970 and then cloning to the 990? Or clone in...
Would you say the UQX or 1UG are still worth getting, or is there anything else with a similar spec worth looking at? I want a 4K 32" 1400HDR G-sync ultimate, but the UQX is a couple of years old now, isn't it? and the 1UG seems to be based on the same panel (plus, has speakers which I don't...
Can I just ask, as of now, are the ViewSonic ELITE XG321UG and ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX, still considered worthwhile to get, or are there going to be other options available in 2023?
OK, so couple of questions here. 1) You sound as if you're suggesting that HDR isn't worth it in gaming, is that a 'at this time', or in general? 2) If I got a 4K screen, you're saying I could run 1440p with sharpening, is the newer 4K monitors image quality OK at non-native resolutions...
Funnily enough I was just looking at the ASUS ROG Swift PG35VQ, I'm not sure if I can get my head round the ultrawide though, I've always had either a 1080 or 1440 16:9. *edit* just noticed this monitor is 2 years old.
I think, at the moment, I'd rather have the 1440 res, and the ability to...
