Ive been getting a bunch of numbers calling me over and over like 30-40 times a day some kinda prank stuff going on

How does this happen?

how do they do this?

what do you think software wise was used and how so?

im getting weird random strange texts and calls

On my Essential Phone, my callerid app (forgot which one on top of my head) blocks like 98% of such calls. On my iPhone, true caller and hiya only catches like 75% at best. I kind of want to go back to Android because of it.

Mostly what I get is like either real credit card or some phishing attempt phone calls as well as student loan forgiveness when I had no student loans. I was one of the kids with full scholarship with a paid software development job through college. So why the hell would I have student loans?!?

If u have an iPhone restrict your calls to contacts.

Follow these instructions to limit all incoming calls to people on your Contacts list:
  1. Navigate to Settings -> Do Not Disturb.
  2. Toggle Manual ON (green slider) to enable Do Not Disturb (DND), or schedule a time for DND to automatically switch on.
  3. Tap Allow Calls From.
  4. Select All Contacts.

its an android and how did they do this ? is something software related that they used ?

I literally just googled your question. Search around. Samsung:
How to block all calls except those in contact list on Galaxy S5...
  1. On your Galaxy S5, find and launch the Settings app.
  2. Find and tap Blocking mode.
  3. Slide the Blocking mode switch to the right.
  4. Check Block incoming calls.
  5. Check Always.
  6. Tap Allowed contacts and then select All contacts.

The majority of such calls are initiated utilizing a computerized autodialer to deliver a pre-recorded message, as if from a robot which is why they are called Robocalls. The draw back to blocking all incoming calls, except those in your contact list, is you will also block incoming calls from non-spam callers who are not in your contact list.

I use the default Google Phone app. Verge has an article describing the app's spam blocking features Google's Phone app can now prevent some spam calls from interrupting you: Verge.

See also the Google Phone App help page.

Regarding your persistent unwanted repeat callers. If for some reason, one or more of them bypasses the app's spam filter, all that would be needed is to locate the call in the app's Call History, then press on the call. You will then be offered the option to "Block/report spam" that number. Once you do that you will no longer receive calls or text from that number.

Dude, download a spam blocking app like the two I mentioned. TMo also provides one on Android backed by Hiya; if you're on TMo, download that first. I have CallApp because I needed something to record phone calls, but it also happens to be a great spam blocker; I think it uses True Caller.
