Disco Elysium!
It has a quality that makes it utterly unique and the depth of world building is insane. You never get to explore it physically, but it's an entire fleshed out world with it's own countries, politics, history and cultures. Started...
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. I guess no matter how "off the wall" an issue is it probably happened before. And might even be a common or known issue.
At least I found the issue quickly and fixed it with little trouble.
This is actually a common fault with those. It happened to mine, and to one other that I've seen in person. Mine failed in the middle of the night, and since my email server is behind it and I didn't want that to be offline all night, I had to do...
Yes! Hell yes! I've been disabling it in every Intel CPU I've ever owned as a matter of course. Games are just slower with it on (for cpus with enough native cores for the game in question).
Seems 8 threads is a plateu right now for gaming and...
F1 24 Track & Driver Updates
The big new feature of F1 24 is Ray-Traced Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination, which improves the lighting, shadows, and reflections during races and cutscenes alike...the 2024 drivers will also look better than...
Interesting, I've not had any crashing lately, but following the advice above, I fired up "The Last of Us: Part 1" and let it do shader comp (haven't played this game since it first came out on PC, lol). Ran fine for a few minutes, all good...
I recently got into the F1 games just a few months back having been watching "Drive to Survive" on Netflix and then wanting some decent F1 game to play to fill that hole.
So I got F1 2022 real cheap from a CDkey site, kinda enjoyed it...
Those backplates tend to have a thin later of clear plastic protective covering, I'd bet that is what it getting burned/discoloured, rather than the metal underneath, I'd be interested to know.
And back in my day we had UV cold cathode tubes...
Honestly, I'd rather have a modern-graphics remake of BF 1942. Bad Company 2 was the last good BF game, IMO. I tried to like BF3 but the unlocks and other BS were too much.
Well... I'll make an assumption here:
We are of a generation of gamers who were there for the genesis of both the games and the industry. It was exciting for us wasn't it? My god the number of computers and upgrades I did to play the latest game...
To clarify it was the PSU to GPU PCI cables that were bad, the rest of the Cablemods were fine. I tried every HW swap and SW updates/uninstalls with no remedy. I used the cables that came with the PSU and has been trouble free for over a year.
I believe it's an intel CPU hardware issue, easily rectified in software with almost no real-world performance loss, they likely already have the fix.
The trouble is when you roll it out, what spin do you give?
Just seen this thread:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/540532/geforce-grd-55212-feedback-thread-released-4424/
People generally agree things were ok with nvidia drivers till about October last year, which is...
Great, 13900K user here, thought I was unnaffected as I've not really noticed any major crashing, but then, I don't tend to play a alot of very recent games.
But I looked in my event viewer for WHEA errors anyway, and sure enough, the last 3 new...
so i was just about to post about this situation from something i was reading in the steam forums according to someone that this IS a degradation issue that's been happening with 12-14th gen intel cpu's. i'm going to post his first post and link...
BioShock 2 Remastered
Great game set in the Bioshock series. Mostly the same gameplay as one with some changes. Great environments and atmosphere, story is decent. Doesn't have the same charismatic characters of the first game but are still...
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2, or as I like to call it Alan Walk 2, is an amazing looking game that does not play quite as well as it looks. I also spent a little more than half of the game time playing as someone who was not Alan Wake. As a sequel to...
