The place to post if you have invite codes. I unfortunately do not have any, but will be more than happy if anyone with one wants to PM a code over :D Then I can start sharing the love too.
I tried the PSU and the 690 in a different system and achieved boot. I went back and looked at the motherboard, it's likely the cause. Ive RMA'ed it after I tried a different psu and card in this board again and it failed to boot. Now we play the waiting game.
Tried an 8600 in the system, it boots
Tried the 690 in another system, it boots
Tried using the power adapter cables that came with the card just to see, no change. System still instant off's the moment it is powered up.
New card arrived.
Still have a problem.
Pin test the PSU. Working.
Plug in everything leaving out power to video card. Working.
Plug in power to card. PSU instant off.
I have not removed the stock cooler from the new card yet. I'm ready to punch a baby at this point. It's been over 2 and a...
So I just bought the signature series and I bought the water block and a backplate for the card. Everything fit on fine but the second I powered up the system it would instant off. After troubleshooting I found it was having this card in the system that was doing it. I swapped the card with a...
So it turns out having the GTX690 in there is causing the PSU to instant off
I popped an 8600gts I had laying around in and it came up fine. I'm guessing maybe the card is shot? I haven't tried that in a different machine yet but why bother if it won't work in this one.
I was able to drain the system and pull the motherboard out. I hooked up the motherboard ram and a video card and it fired right up and did some BIOS recovery. I'm guessing it's the assassin 2 mobo shorting out somewhere inside the phantom case. Might try and get a piece of craft foam and put it...
has anyone ever had booting issues with this other than the common DOA? I just tried running this on a new build and it will turn on then immediately off. I'm going to guess it's because 1000w is not enough power.
So I was looking around a bit more online. Anyone have any info on the Swiftech Apogee Drive II Pump & CPU Waterblock Combo? I am debating adding this in as a second pump and replacing the waterblock I have chosen above. In all honesty I'd really love some input on parts selection for WC.
EDIT...
The case arrived today but looking inside the measurements won't fit a 200mm rad. Not even ultra thin would fit in there. so I'll have to go with a 140 and instead of strapping fans directly on it just have 2 200mm blowing straight down ontop of it.
That looks like a dual 120mm rad. I guess I'll have to do some measurements and get diameters for everything going in.
I know they make ultra thin rads I just don't know how good/bad they are.
I was looking at the Phobya Xtreme 400mm Radiator for the top but I guess now I will second guess...
