I cannot, for the life of me, connect 2 devices at 4K@60 to this monitor. When I connect just HDMI #4, I get the (expected) 4K60. As soon as I plug in the DP, the HDMI #4 instantly drops to 4K30. I've upgraded to the latest firmware and it made no difference... :( Also, my HDMI #3 doesn't do...

You need to install LG's OnScreen Control and update the firmware. The odds of you getting one, from a store, with an updated firmware are slim to none.

This monitor doesn't have Freesync (never has). Yes: a bunch of websites reviewed Freesync versions of this monitor, but those never got to mass production (nobody knows why, and LG never established the difference).

Pretty standard price, and with Black Friday coming in 2 weeks, I wouldn't recommend buying them at that price AT ALL… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m having issues now too and I had it working before and upgraded the firmware. Right now, the monitor keeps thinking the USB-C is a VIDEO input (Windows even complains about it)… :(

So, anybody else getting super fuzzy text when splitting the screen with 2 inputs? I thought the issue was my 2 previous cards (770 and 970) but I just got a 1080Ti and I'm still getting super fuzzy text when I do a horizontal split with two 3840x1080 screens on top of each other. Individually...

Yup. Thought of that the second I posted that comment and didn't bother to fix it! haha Right now I have plenty of storage space, so keeping all the enclosures won't be an issue. If I move or the warranty expires (whichever comes first), I'll just toss them all :)

All 3 are WD80EFAX, WD Reds with 256Mb cache (from Thailand). I shucked them already, which was REALLY easy using the 4+1 system (just used an old card, cut 1/3 out for the "leverage" piece, and then cut the other 2/3 in 4 squares pieces for the pegs). Ran WD's Lifeguard Diagnostics Extended...

Absolutely not. This display is incredible and definitely uniformly lit. You might've gotten a faulty panel. I'd talk to the vendor to get it replaced. If not, you can always reach out to LG directly (the MU has the business warranty which is WAY better, and even gives you some neat features...

The more I use the MU the more I find it difficult to believe that it isn't an AH-IPS panel: the matte coating is super light, the viewing angles are superb, and not to mention 10-bit color seems to be a thing with AH-IPS too… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #confused

Got my 43MU79-B from that Newegg deal today (holy fast shipping; ordered Monday). Once again, firmware totally upgradeable using the OnScreen Tools from the 43UD79-B. Totally fixed PWM frequency!
