Isn't this currently the case with the 4090? I'm pretty sure the 4090 isn't actually the full AD102 die as they reserve those for AI cards instead. As for knocking down the memory specs a bit, I'm pretty fine with that if it's going to help reduce the power draw like you said because a 448bit...
Techtesters did not specify what window size she used for her measurement so we can't say that it doesn't add up vs MUB. She might not have even used test patterns for her measurements but instead used real scenes and if you look at MUB real scene results, the monitor gets nowhere near 1200...
So WOLED does not suffer from crazy dimming in mid APL like QD OLED does. Combine that with a glossy coating that doesn't have raised blacks and a lower price point I think this is the option to get if you want 1440p.
I still find it hilarious that prior to the 4090 and RDNA3 coming out, rumors were saying the 4090 might have to "juice up it's power draw" in order to compete with top RDNA3 when in reality juicing up the power draw from 450w to 600w on a 4090 barely gets you anything lmfao. If it couldn't...
The 5090 is going to be a beast I have little doubt about that. If the pricing is too high however then I can see people choosing to skip out on upgrading from a 4090. 3090 -> 4090 was a huge performance gain while MSRP only went up by $100 from $1499 to $1599 so let's see if 4090 -> 5090...
No worries. Not sure what else to do with this thing besides keep using it I suppose. If I were to attempt to RMA it I am 99.9% sure MSI will just send it back saying they can't find anything wrong with it since I don't have any way to reliably replicate the issue for them.
I can't update the firmware since I have the MAG model, but I don't think this a firmware related issue. Not sure what part of the firmware would cause it to randomly shut off once every 6 weeks. Would be something to ask the MPG user on reddit though.
If it really was heat though, I'm not sure how being powered off for a few seconds is somehow good enough to let the panel run for hours on end again if it's reached a critical temperature. In both instances when it shut off on me, I just powered it back on and kept using it and it went on for...
Hmm I suppose it could be. That user's unit just seems to be flat out defective though since it's turning off 3 times within 5 minutes and also flashing red and green. His also shuts off while just watching youtube while mine has only shut off while doing HDR gaming so perhaps it is heat related...
So my monitor just powered itself off while I was in the middle of playing ghosts of tsushima. I've had it for exactly 3 months now and this is the second time it's happened. I don't think this has anything to do with firmware, probably some power spikes? Two occurances in a 3 month span is sort...
Sure it can but my original question is who said it will? I haven't seen any indication that it's coming out in June so feel free to link sources. I googled it and the first 3 results all say the same thing, that it will be REVEALED at computex, but not released until later. So if you got...
And? Neither Zen 4 nor Zen 3 came out in June. I'm not sure where this idea that Zen 5 is coming out in June came from since that hasn't been the trend for 2 generations already.
I personally don't think Asus will be able to maintain a $1400+ price tag for very long. There is simply way too much competition in the 32" OLED space and the 480Hz mode is extremely niche. Also, the internet has been led to believe that QD OLED is far far superior to WOLED similar in a way...
