yeah, i ran that. (it was another thing i found whilst googling.) result: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. i even thought maybe i had a virus or some malware, but both mse and malwarebytes turned up nothing. i am beyond stumped at this point.

gskill was indeed very quick to respond to my RMA request. already got my RMA # and i shipped out the RAM via UPS this morning. it cost $21.67 USD to ship it UPS ground, so yeah, definitely cheaper than buying a new kit. :p
