I just played through Gears 5 a week ago and it was a very stable experience.
I'll probably check out this new title, I'm not a huge Gears fan, but when I do play them, I enjoy myself.
I'm normally not bothered by this style of art for games (Dishonored 1/2 are still beautiful games imo), but it's absolutely jarring for a new Dragon Age title when the previous entries had a more realistic look. 'Clair Obscur' announced at the Xbox games show looks more like what I'd expect a...
I'm a fan of Panzer Dragoon, not sure if I'm a fan of Panzer Dragoon in my DooM, though.
I'm a bit surprised they didn't do a new Heretic/Hexen title instead if they wanted a more Medieval setting for their next game.
Yar, ASUS announced a bit after the Ally X info drop that the warranty will be extended for 2 years (not just for the SD card issue). Considering sending my unit in for its squeaky DPad.
ROG Ally X hands-on impressions videos are going live.

I'm liking the revisions, not enough to make me rush out and replace my ROG Ally (I'll wait for the next chipset, but it's definitely an improvement...
I saw Alphacool hyping a new version of their AIO pump/block. Apparently a DDC-style pump is replacing their DC-LT in it. I'm curious if it will be strong enough to run a full Cpu/gpu loop.
Hopefully computex will have more info on the product.
I don't have any experience with it, but the Xbox adaptive controller (compatible with PC too) might work for you.

I'm pretty sure Sony released a similar controller for their Playstation platform as well.
Here's hoping they'll also have this 'Xbox OS' available for the DIY market (and hopefully it's a Windows OS offshoot that offers full Windows game compatibility but designed around a Xbox-style UI).
I appreciate Nintendo setting expectations for next month's Nintendo Direct - however, I'm hoping they'll at least confirm b/c for the upcoming Switch games. IE: "Available November 2024 for Nintendo Switch and Future Nintendo Console").
I missed a lot of the big Switch titles this generation (still haven't played TOTK or Metroid Dread). Hoping Nintendo will release a slew of 'Player's Choice'-style lower pricing for some of their 1st party releases.
Coming to an end of another set of nights and my ROG Ally (affectionately called 'Roggy') was a welcomed companion for the set. Played some Tetris Connect, Lumines, Fallout 4, and Sleeping Dogs (which has been pretty great so far).
One hardware issue has popped up, though, and it's a...
Haven't played the game in a long time so figured I'd give it a shot - and it's already sinking its claws into me. I never fully completed the game on my first playthrough, I didn't really like any of the factions and that character's "ending" was traveling into the irradiated zone with his...
With the way the last couple of Xbox generations have gone - that might be the way to go.
It wouldn't be a terrible idea to buy out Sega and use the Sega branding for their future hardware. Xbox has always had a hard time appealing to the Japanese consumer, but I bet a 'Sega Winbox' with a...
Yeah, it's quite the jump. 1440p at 32" was great before I knew what 4k @ 32" looked like.
However, that's for desktop use; For gaming I don't notice a difference and am considering going back to 1440p to prolong my 3080s shelf life.
Yeah, that d-pad was weird; I believe it had different modes to either simulate a traditional d-pad or a analogue stick. It did neither particularly well. I seem to recall the d-pad inputs were at a weird angle, so moving right felt like you were hitting a diagonal on the d-pad. I'm pretty...
The Sidewinder was pretty comfortable and the six face buttons ( ala Saturn) was a nice touch.
The Sidewinder Game Pad Pro was hot garbage, though. Worst dpad I have ever used.
That's exactly what I've hoped MS would turn the Xbox into each time they release a new hardware. I'm hoping that Valve's success with SteamOS and the Steam Deck, MS will see the benefit of a more open platform. With the way Spencer has been talking about 3rd party launchers and exclusives -...
I've got a dozen hours in on the PS5 version but will likely restart on the PC version for the FOV controls. The PS5 version was fine, but that zoomed in FOV (compared to my playthrough of HZD on PC) was tough to get used to.
There's a "install the app" option in the menu. You might want to try removing the old app, install a new app, and see if the new app removes the error.
I'm hoping some time after the final part of this trilogy releases, they'll release a "full trilogy" pack that combines all three titles into one package and have their level/gameplay systems consistent with each other (ie: levels/materia carry over, etc) - that way we'll get that epic full...
The current PC handhelds have made me a believer in the form factor - I'd be on board for a new high-end Shield Portable (preferably not Android based).
Here's hoping the new version of the Series X allows standard m.2 2280 SSD expansion like the PS5. For me, that's the biggest drawback against the Xbox hardware.
Not really feeling the need for a new Series X, however, if they shrink it down to Series S proportions, I might be tempted.
Just finishing up my first set of nights with my ROG and - yeah, it's effectively replaced my Steam Deck.
I got the Skull & Co grip case for it, and that rounded out the grips nicely where it's very comfortable to hold. I'd dare say this handheld has become more comfortable than the Steam...
Yeah, that would be a pretty compelling strategy. I heard rumors of Sony doing a similar strategy with the PS6. I wonder how much this would affect Nintendo, now all of a sudden MS and Sony would be stepping into their console category.
I like these handhelds, and find myself using them more often than my desktop pc/console.
I'm less excited for a Xbox handheld, just because my ROG Ally gives me my handheld gamepass fix now.
I remember really enjoying the mini-games in the original FF VII, but that was more because they were so novel (at the time). Replaying the OG today, and those mini-games are pretty dreadful.
With that said, I enjoyed the piano mini-game more than I thought I would (haven't completed the...
I'd be interested - there's a lot of Game Pass games that would work well on a handheld, and not having to worry about the Windows side of things like I do with my ROG Ally is appealing.
