    3080Ti Review: Mostly a Neutered 3090

Odd, I didn't know a 400w capable GPU (3090 FE in this setup) couldn't be SFF friendly. Seems to be working just fine for me and my setup seems to provide adequate airflow. It'll idle as low as 24C at night (around 27-29C during the day) and levels out around 68-70C under extended load when...

    Nvidia rtx 3090 discussion

Not sure why you are quote replying to me with this suggestion. I mentioned that I am already capping my framerates to go no higher than the refresh rate of my monitor (which is 60Hz) and still experienced coil whine with certain games (RDR2, primarily).

    Your CPU progression

Hmmm....this is going to be tough to recall all of them, but here goes with approximate year I started using them (only counting ones that resided in my home). Pre-1999 it gets a little fuzzy: Tandy 1000 (~1988, my first PC) Somewhere between 1991 and 1995 are these three CPUs: 386 DX 25MHz...

    Does pump speed matter?

It was mainly at just 70% and 90% (interesting 80% was quiet and vibration free) and maybe an ever slight hint at 40%. So it isn't a huge issue since I am usually not at those speeds. The other speeds were pretty much silent and/or vibration free.

    Does pump speed matter?

There is only so much dampening I am able to do for mine. It just seems like at certain speeds the pump hits a resonating frequency that transmits through the case. But the way my pump is mounted probably doesn't help either. I also never go above 90% with the pump speed because it will draw...

    Does pump speed matter?

For me, my loop is pretty simple. For me I have my D5 pump -> Optimus CPU Block (~20" tube length) -> Corsair XR7 240mm Radiator (~9" tube length) -> back to reservoir (~9-10" tube length). The tubing used is Primochill 3/8" ID 1/2" OD. While the case is a mATX cube, so pretty small, it's a...

    Does pump speed matter?

I can't say whether or not the flow rates are accurate, but we are seeing a consistent change in flow rate based on the revolutions per second it is recording, which is roughly between .043-.045 liters/min for every 1 revolution per second. Your coolant temps, which I assume showing are at...

    Does pump speed matter?

It's ultimately your choice. Me, personally, I think it looks better and less cluttered not using the distribution block. With the way it was laid out, I fail to see what benefit the distribution block was giving you other than more potential leak points, slightly more coolant capacity, a more...

    Does pump speed matter?

This probably shows that your radiators are probably your biggest restrictor, but you did see improvements. Also, keep in mind, as cool as you are running already, you are reaching a point of diminishing returns. You still managed to get your coolant temp to drop .8C, your flow rate has...

    Does pump speed matter?

If you have an unused port on your reservoir that comes in contact with the coolant, you can use this: Alphacool 17364 Eiszapfen Temperature Sensor Plug This is what I am using to get my coolant readings and you won't need any other adapters to get it to work. And since the reservoir is your...

    Does pump speed matter?

It is possible for air bubbles to affect temp, but with the way the CPU die is positioned in relation to where the air bubble is at, plus considering that the coolant is jetting coolant over the heatsink fins that are directly on top of the die, I wouldn't think that particular air bubble would...

    Does pump speed matter?

You can try using FurMark to get a general idea. It can stress both the GPU and the CPU and is still pretty responsive to kill the tests if needed. I’ve done that before: kick off the GPU stress in a window then the CPU burner. That way both can be killed relatively quickly if you run into any...

    Does pump speed matter?

Maybe the absolute volume of your rads and coolant capacity along with your 26c ambient temp is outpacing your PC's ability to heatsoak even with such a low flow rate. You do have 3 massive rads that are 54mm thick only cooling a CPU and video card. Based on Hardware Labs specs, just one of...

    Does pump speed matter?

I see, so you want an on threshold that is higher than the off threshold. But the way it is currently setup the on and off trigger is essentially the same temp. Turn on fans when temp reaches 30C but do not turn off fans until temp is below 28C, for instance. This is much like how Nvidia has...

    I went camping...

I feel that adding the two 80mm fans helped me with my setup. While peak GPU temp is still the same, around the 68-69c mark (which appears to be the target temp threshold the card permits before cutting back on clock speeds), I noticed I was able to hit and hold a higher clock at the same temps...
