I think Intel's hand is forced. Lunar Lake & specifically MSI Claw 2 users would be used to test drive beta drivers before battlemage's release. Driver work is much harder than hardware design after all.
I have no idea why AMD would delay RDNA 4. Can only think of 2 reasons below:

I would be surprised if anyone bought the claw (other than as a gaming laptop) but claw 2 coming next quarter is said to compete well with current handhelds on market
& MSI says they are open to AMD for claw 3 / claw 4 etc.
DO NOT BUY THE CURRENT CLAW
MSI to release a new claw (Claw 2) in fall
Lunar Lake APU inside new device should match current AMD windows handhelds on power & performance

In case anyone is interested in the intel side of things, they too are targetting 2025 release for battlemage (I believe a top exec had mentioned long ago that drivers would be ready only by CES 2025 but lunar lake apus including MSI Claw 2 should release before discrete battlemage, I think)...
Auto SR introduces 1 frame of latency ( "Most players didn’t notice this delay" )
& as expected, runs only on NPUs but not on CPUs/GPUs

I still can't accept or digest that RDNA 4 will not release this year. Hope it is not true & hopefully by latest of Sept, AMD will release the new cards !!
Frankly, from the days of the atom, Intel has made me feel like a 'loser' for buying atom.
Intel says they've optimized lunar lake for performance constrained and/or area constrained scenarios
This could help them in the handheld gaming especially 11watts and below where it will compete with...
Imo, e-core/atom from intel have been awful from the beginning (intel's equivalent of low power ARM cpus with poor performance)
Now they are at last catching up to the p-cores
P-core only Desktop chips would still have SMT
Mobile chips focusing on both area efficiency & power efficiency will not have it
(Future consoles with power limiting scenarios might ditch SMT)...
