For games, something like Horizon Forbidden West should do. Lots of bright scenery. No idea how good its HDR implementation is tho, but I thought it looked gorgeous on my OLED TV playing on a PS5.
For video, look for e.g 4K HDR nature videos on...
Of course not. The bungling of model naming has to be intentional at this point. It makes absolutely no sense nevertheless.
The superultrawide model names are way too close to each other, then the same display can have a different name in...
Nice, so it does seem different by having USB-C instead of a 3rd HDMI port. That's way more useful, but most likely also limited to 8Kx2K @ 120 Hz no matter what. Perfect for hooking up a Mac tho where you aren't getting 240 Hz anyway.
Looks extremely similar to the Samsung version. Would not be surprised if they are even identical hardware in a different chassis. I fully expect this will be annoyingly expensive compared to the often on sale Samsung G95NC.
I hope some Computex...
That was a very weird decision. A local store had the G95NC and OLED G9 side by side and having less curve on a display this wide makes no sense to me. I always felt the CRG9 I used for a few years could have been much more curved and viewing...
The design seems largely unchanged from the original G9 series which prompted a lot of complaints about issues. The less curved CRG9 seemed to have way less issues.
Bending a LCD to 1000R curve is no small feat. Combine that with a mini-LED...
Samsung always does this weird shit with resolution support. The display should be able to do 5120x1440 or 7680x2160 no problem, but Samsung probably just didn't program their EDID to do that. Makes me wonder if you could just use CRU or SRE to...
Yeah I've looked into these before and it never makes sense over just buying a regular AV receiver for much less money and dealing with its bulky size.
These Genelecs are almost as tall as a 27" display. So the only reasonable option is wall...
Yeah proper, powered studio monitors are generally superior to most hifi stuff when it comes to accuracy, even if things like placement, the room itself will have a big effect on that no matter what. I've got a pair of relatively big Genelec M040...
I'd avoid oled for your usage (too static) , but you could get a mini led monitor, or a plain ips high refresh 4k monitor like the m32u as a basic option. There are a lot of different ones that would be fine.
You shouldn't need to spend more...
I disagree about this. I really miss the form factor of the 49" superultrawide I had. Despite being the equivalent of two 27" 1440p monitors, it felt more like having 3 monitors because the area where you have the bezels on a dual monitor setup...
Ah yes that one...on any Samsung monitor I've had I just leave those out because they are not practical. They are not good for cable management at all.
That seems awfully involved compared to just storing the fw on the USB drive and swapping it into the specific port on the display. It's not like these updates come out every month.
Yeah out of those the sleep issue is the only real major problem. Don't know if that has been fixed with either MacOS or monitor firmware updates since then.
MacOS is a real turd for external display handling in general. I've found my M2 Max...
I think it might be useful if you could figure out how to show the virtual screen on your real monitor, then use the virtual screen for e.g fullscreen YT videos or other things where fullscreen is generally a problem on superultrawides and large...
Hey guys, unfortunately I can't be of more help at the moment, I've requested a return for the device.
I may be acquiring another one at the end of the month saving me money, or just waiting for an 8K 120hz device to drop in the future, 8K...
