Jon Postel died young. I heard him speak at some of the early Interop conferences, when it wasn't so damned commericial.

That's pretty cool. I think what's so different about these founders is that they weren't the 'rock stars' like early hardware guys Finis Conner, et al, even though their contributions have been far more profound.
