Google walks back AI search results

That's exactly what I'm thinking too. It shouldn't have ever come to this. We shouldn't have to risk our freedom to be mistaken over something like this but it's aggregating ALL the garbage on the internet without any context for a reader to know where the source came from or all the ways a...

Google walks back AI search results

I have directly experienced really bad results from this crap just in the last week. Since you can't easily disable it, you encounter it at the top of most searches. Well, if you actually use search for anything serious... like trying to search info for heat treatment of certain metals, or a...

    [DEAD]Very [HOT] 7900X3D $330 @ Antonline

Smoking hot. Told a friend who needed one. Thanks. It's a great CPU for the price if you need dual use and crazy efficient. You just have to take a deep breath and stop worrying if it's the best gaming on the entire planet or not. It's close. Very close.

    LG 48CX

THAT is my single big gripe about the CX48. The physical shape and weight are moronic. It's virtually impossible to move solo safely. It's got so much bulk in the middle and down low on the back, it makes no sense whatsoever why the panel is paper thin all along the top. What dang difference...

    Windows 11 Pro - $29.97

It will. This is completely true. If you don't mind the watermark, nagging, and inability to customize your desktop theme, you can just use the Microsoft official installer and run Win 10 or Win 11 without EVER activating it. Not recommended, but you certainly can. You may or may not get all...

    [DEAD] 7900X3D $391.49 @ Amazon

I've been rocking one of these since launch. Good CPU. Near perfect balance of price and performance. But is it STILL a perfect balance of price and performance against other options? Harder to say. It's still one of the most efficient CPUs for all workloads ever made. It air cools fine...

    LG 48CX

Never heard of that one. Mine seems ok so far. Any chance the delam issues are screens that have had the panel replaced? You never see any kind of flat panel screen do that these days, cheap or not. If the screen is capable of delaminating in less than 10-15 years that's just plain a design...

The Apple Vision Pro goes on sale in the US on February 2 for $3,499

And I can agree with that idea, but has anyone seen any videos or articles of actual named companies adopting this device? Did Apple work with any software or commercial corporations pre launch to get this device working at least in beta with their workflow before launch so they would have...

The Apple Vision Pro goes on sale in the US on February 2 for $3,499

Just out of curiosity how are returns handled on something like this? The credit card processing percentage fees that stores have to pay to take them back will eat them alive.

The Apple Vision Pro goes on sale in the US on February 2 for $3,499

It's DOA. At $3500 it literally can not sell enough units to not end up orphan and dead after a year. After the Apple fan "just buy it" wave subsides there won't be any more buyers with that kind of money. People act like anyone can buy anything if they adjust their priorities accordingly...

    8700g, 8600g, and 8500g Reviews

I agree my primary use case for one of these is HTPC or multi-role office system in a really small light case that may stay on constantly. It provides "enough" of everything to do everything at a low power and low heat output. But if for ANY reason 3D performance is the primary desire that is...

    8700g, 8600g, and 8500g Reviews

Yeah, these are a great specialty combo. As Gamer's Nexus showed... if budget gaming is all that matters an i3-12100 and a RX 6600 or 6650XT are twice as fast for the same money or less. But the 8700G 8 Core is a decently fast CPU and has $150 worth of video bolted on and it does it at...

Thanks for looking. Let me see what I can find out on our end. This isn't really my wheelhouse. I talked to the person keeping up our site and apparently Hostgator pushed some more updates at our Wordpress site sometime recently. May be related. It was hard to tell what end the was problem...

    Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer

A lot of us didn't sleep through GTAV or RDR2 we just didn't play on console. The PC release of RDR2 was years later. I'm going to step right up and say that RDR2 on PC is on my top 5 list of best games I have ever played in my life. And that's up against stuff from the early glory days like...

Microsoft wants to move Windows fully to the cloud

ILLEGAL to sell regular lightbulbs after August 1st

Always nice to have a more technical explanation. Mostly in my experience, I was flat out shocked just how randomly bad color rendering (not reproduction I used the wrong word sorry) can be on a lot of LED lights. It's a topic I knew about from outdoor lighting like sodium lights etc, and I...

ILLEGAL to sell regular lightbulbs after August 1st

And don't even get me started about Color Reproduction Index (CRI). I have found a real love for 5000k LED lighting that has a CRI above 90. The problem is that most LED lights are cheap crap that don't reproduce color well, especially reds and and secondarily greens. People focus only on the...

New X3D BIOS Rolling Out - ASUS, ASRock, More (AM5, X670/B650)

Look for the section of BIOS that has options for wake or power on timers. Many boards have it on by default in BIOS, and Windows or other programs will set wake events without you knowing. Also check Windows for power on events.

    TV vs. "real" gaming monitor

Good advice so far. All those definitely true. I'm going to speak in generalities to the elephant in the room. You asked specifically about GAMING monitors. So you can generally trust that input lag is by design very low at "gaming" settings on that type of monitor. That's the whole point...

Microsoft backs down on Windows 11 changes

We ran Windows phones for a while. It was truly pretty good, except for exactly what was stated above. They abandoned support and didn't add a store. The tile layout and the way you could customize it suited a phone extremely well. More important things, or things that need room for text...

Microsoft backs down on Windows 11 changes

Personally I'm glad they've backed down on some of these planned changes they've got too many in the OS right now that aren't working out well and they need to admit it. Now there's an F5c. Note #5. There are probably memory profiles that can't be stable at 1.3. Look, that's honestly not really a problem as most kits that have issues at "only 1.3" soc are bleeding high perf that don't buy you much on an AMD CPU anyway but what is a problem is that kits were...

My B650 Aorus Elite AX... Gigabyte first removed F5a, then released F5b after all this voltage mess started... now I look today and F5b has now vanished also and we're still back to F4... which is one of the first couple of BIOSs they released with the board with 1.0.0.5 C.

So can't afford a brand new card. 2080TI for $350 reasonable?

I think right this second I wouldn't bother with Nvidia under the 4070 Ti. There's too many cheap AMD cards under that tier.
  36. A

So can't afford a brand new card. 2080TI for $350 reasonable?

I think the only sensible possibility of Nvidia's "demise" in graphics cards would be them simply deciding that consumer gaming cards aren't worth it anymore. And that is possible at the rate prices are increasing and how their only response to waning demand of each new (lower end $$$ ?!?) card...

So can't afford a brand new card. 2080TI for $350 reasonable?

My main card is a 3080 Ti but a couple of weeks ago I also just scored a new 6750 XT on sale for $320. It performs extremely well for that price. Some good prices are out there on the RX 6000 cards. In this market that is a hell of a lot of performance at a good price. It's very nearly 3080...

New X3D BIOS Rolling Out - ASUS, ASRock, More (AM5, X670/B650)

Gigabyte is also speedily releasing. F5a with 1.0.0.6. Since I'm tuning my X3D CPU I went ahead and tried it. This one is working just fine as an alpha release so far, at least it's stable. Now if they can just bring back a feature or two they removed and improve memory OC a little bit...

New X3D BIOS Rolling Out - ASUS, ASRock, More (AM5, X670/B650)

And just to tie it off, Gigabyte replaced F4B with F4, a non-beta release. This fixed most of the issues, although they left DRAM Power Down off. So there is no way to turn it off on this board, at the moment. Maybe it'll come back when they release the next BIOS with 1.0.0.6.
