Probably if you wanted a receiver to use 5.1 it way back then, but that was back before video cards had HDMI, so you would probably be using optical out which doesn't even have the bandwidth for uncompressed 5.1.
There were sound blaster cards that you could just connect something like OP's...
I think the game engine does that, or some sort of directsound type layer the game engine uses. You've never needed Dolby Digital or anything special like that to get surround sound.
I use a monitor mount like that but have a block of wood the speaker is connected to, and screw the block of wood to the monitor mount
The big hole is for the speaker wire, the small hole is where the screw goes into the back of the speaker.
You would need really long arms to reach back...

Vincent says it's the same glossy panel LG uses. Of course he's getting that info from Asus, but it would be weird for them to use something different instead of keeping it all the same.
Even if they do add support for all those other features I would still feel the same about it.
I doubt many games if any would add support for those features even if they worked. I think the only hope would be games that are both on PC and PSVR2.
But it's still disappointing because those...
lmao I love this. No tiny computer spakers, not even book shelf speakers, EXTRA LARGE tower speakers right on the desk.
But that can't sound great sitting so close to them.
The graphics in the cinematic trailer are amazing, but is it just me or do all the jokes and the story in the trailers completely fall flat?
It's like stereotypical bad hollywood writing but even worse. It has the quality of a school project. It feels like they blew their load on the...
Lol this is so stupid. This is gaming's equivalent of SJWs crying for justice and change on something that really doesn't matter at all, and that anyone can easily take care of themselves if they actually do care about it.
If you really want someone to inherit your steam library it's simple...
I looked at these when they were new 4 years ago.
I wanted to try one, but they're way too expensive for just trying.
I thought this guy did a pretty good review explaining everything
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX1ifYxzr3M
They have mice with thumb joysticks on them. The joystick would basically become your WASD for movement and you wouldn't need a keyboard for the most part.
I've never actually used one, this was the first that came up when I googled it...
I'm not sure I believe this rumor, but it was pretty clear to me Microsoft planned to buy Valve when they started putting their games on Steam.
Gabe seems like the kind of guy that probably won't sell and they'll have to wait until he dies. He has enough money and doesn't really seem...
It looks good from the youtube video and screenshots I've seen. But in a day when anyone can whip up something in UE5 for free it's kind of hard to be impressed.
The battery operated camers can work fine. If you want to be notified while something is happening it's probably the way to go.
If it's something like Blink they can immediately give you an alert and real time feed on your phone. The cameras even have a speaker on them and you can talk...
I don't think instagib evens the playing field. I just dominate even harder with instagib and end up racking up 100 kills while everyone else is still at single digits.
What I usually do in Quake 3 is set handicap on my player and it gives me less health. And/or I only use the underpowered...
Establishing profitable nuclear power plants could very likely be the next big money maker. Just like cloud computing was needed and developed for their own businesses then became big money makers for Amazon and Microsoft as they sold them to other people.
Demand for electricity is going to...
You guys are still just being old grumps with rose tinted glasses for the past.
Yeah some new games are bad, but plenty of old games were absolute garbage too.
There's plenty of great games that don't do that stuff. And a lot of this stuff you're complaining about is easily avoidable and...
They should just use Unreal Engine like what Obsidion did with Outer Worlds. That was UE4 and Obsidion was able to adapt to it and create a game in a couple years, it would be even easier with UE5.
They could actually have cutting edge graphics like they did for Oblivion and Skyrim when they...
I feel I'm just as good as back then, even better in some ways. I have decades of game knowledge that still applies to new games. Reflexes do get slower with age, but not nearly as much as most people think. When you factor in ping and input lag it's negligible.
Of course I don't have time...
Looks kinda cool although not something I would use.
I'm surprised it doesn't cause problems with tracking. Maybe it would be noticable on a mouse with a sensor that isn't so good.
Also that in an optical mouse. Laser mice are something different and not really common anymore.
Well, Quests are extremely popular and heavily played by 12 year olds.
It's just not the games you would probably play or even think of. The most popular games are very physical and social and not as appealing to old men.
Right now Gorilla Tag is the most popular VR game. It has millions...
Lol, no idea what that was supposed to be, but clearly some kind of error in the headline.
We'll actually be seeing games use this sooner than that. The Marvel game they showed is supposed to come out next year.
It's pretty easy to upgrade from previous versions of UE. And if you're...
"Released", but it's early access.
The sound details, for what's done so far is superb. I'm looking forward to this, I probably won't get it until the finished release though.
Also it's just made by one guy, which is amazing.
That would make it easier for them, but they could use 2 cables if they really wanted to, one driving each screen. It might be a bit beyond Pimax's capabilities, or what they want to take on, but it's definitely doable.
Are you installing to a Hard Drive or an SSD? Also what CPU do you have? Steam compresses the shit out of downloads and hits your IO and CPU hard while it downloads them.
Pretty much every other store downloads the file full speed then uncompresses it after. Steam does both at once, and...
Do NOT use wifi devices. If you're going really get into it and do a lot of devices use z-wave and/or zigbee devices along with a HUB that they all connect to and does all the automations. There are a bunch of different hubs you can get, but the best are either building out your own with...
Ok, to each their own I guess. I completely disagree, especially in regards to the lighting. It looks like decade old game tech with more polygons and higher resolution textures. Similar to Starfield.
