I haven't had the (dis)pleasure of playing Tarkov for quite a while now, but it looks as though they're pulling some scummy microtransaction shit lately. This "Unheard Edition" is astoundingly tone-deaf.
Pretty much. You're very early days, but if you're around lvl 10-15 and still having trouble with Hard difficulty, try switching up your Primary. A lot of the primary weapons are straight up garbage and need balancing. Bugs are probably the easiest of the two enemy types to start out on...
Probably not the helmet, as no helmets have any properties. But that armor? Hell yeah that's a great idea. Trends with the last Warbond's arc resistance too!
Patch today
Reduced the spawn rate of Chargers and Bile Titans on difficulties 7 and up
Lowering the health of the Charger’s head. It should now be at a point where a well placed shot from a Recoilless Rifle or EAT-17 instantly kills a charger"
Electronic Countermeasures" operation modifier...
Man, nothing will ever make me rage more than getting one-shot by a Rocket Raider from halfway across the map, hidden by massive amounts of fog.
I've also realized the mech isn't nearly as viable to use against Automatons as they are against bugs.
Yeah I dunno man. The devs took away a tool which they admit became popular because alternatives were lackluster… without offering up any alternatives or improvements. I haven't tested the Laser Cannon yet, but the Flamethrower buff doesn't help much at all. Still takes 3/4 a tank and 5-10...
I'm at 63 total hours on Steam, who knows how much of that was queue fuckery. I'm not so much addicted to the progression, as I am with the gameplay. Mechs and a new faction are coming very soon, from what they're saying. Maybe a month or two.
Yeah it's crazy to see the overlap here. Difference is with Last Epoch, they at least had *some* idea how popular it would/wouldn't be. The game was in EA for quite some time.
Yeah no doubt. They've already shown that commitment in their every-other-day patches, and it's pretty understandable to expect launch bugs for a game that skipped Early Access entirely.
But *damn* if they were expecting 50k tops at launch, and end up getting 400k+, that's some short-cited...
There's definitely a queue still, but I got in after 10ish minutes. No idea how it's going to look this weekend, though. The just-added AFK timer may help, if that ever contributed to the queue-fucking.
Friends and I were able to battle the queue and get in for an hour or 2 yesterday (queues on a Tuesday afternoon, wtfffffffffff).
It really is amazing to experience the progression in this game. I *never* would have guessed we would make it to Suicide difficulty.
A couple of our squad run it...
You're not wrong about the lack of an actual queue.
If you're playing solo, there's a near-zero chance anyone will join your in-progress session.
If you're trying to play with friends, your only hope of playing together is using the 'Join Game' function from your Steams friend list.
In both...
lol last night was a rough one for the queues.
To make up for last week's downtime, the devs are buffing XP and requisitions by 50% (you should see it on the Effects page on your ship). A couple of non-official "fixes";
After the end of a mission, if everyone appears as level 0 and you don't...
To be fair, spamming the "Try Again" button *never* worked for me. I would occasionally get in, but would never receive rewards or access to the "store" whenever I did.
But yeah, servers are still shit.
Yeah, spamming "Quick Match" 20+ times is rough. Even rougher is when you match up, spend 30 minutes in a map, only for them to kick you for no apparent reason. Zero reward/experience, 30 minutes wasted.
Yeah I haven't been able to get in for the last 2 hours.
They announced 'live maintenance' is taking place right now. Kinda odd every streamer I follow has zero connection issues, though.
Yep, really enjoying the gameplay loop. Almost at 1000 super-currency to unlock the premium warbond stuff just by putting in less than 10 hours.
These servers though, woof. I've had multiple connection issues, but hopefully they get smoothed out.
Definitely agree with all of this. I was aware of GameGuard prior to purchasing (still blows my mind they chose *this* anitcheat over other more-reputable options) and have the same hopes it gets removed/replaced eventually.
Oof, sounds like general matchmaking is fucked right now. Not a good place to start a live service game, but I'll give it a few days to marinate. Gameplay still looks/sounds great to me though.
