I’ve a whole bunch of disks laying around at my apartment and we may leave the country in a bit. Given that we live in a compact apartment I would need something that does not produce any noise (I’ve a pi4 with an argon case) and would want to hook both 2.5 and 3.5 drives seamlessly.
Any...
I’ve a similar one (but made by anker)that I use to charge an anker pb that has dual feed in mechanism and I also use it to charge my kindle and my iPhone pro max 11.
What I’ve read is that the m2 ain’t much of an improvement vs the m1, depending on your use-case an m1 might fit your needs.
In my case my mbp 2018 with i9 and 32gb barely makes it but that depends on what is it that you do.
Less then a week ago I had a local tech replace the battery and...
I want to consult you about the following situation. I think I’ve described it before but I’ve not found yet a solution.
My family owns forests in a very very rural place and not that close one to each other (maybe 10 km one from the other. Thing is that the territory is isolated and does not...
If they would not be so expensive in here i may have bought a fold woke time ago.
Now I'm waiting for an iphone 11 pro max(first time ever I'll own an iphone although I do have an MBP ).
First of congrats to OP for getting such system.
Second : why do some call the 5800x3d to be a dead end system (I'm not into gaming ).
I'm about to upgrade my Ryzen 1600 into a 3900x (will be an addition to my humble homelab and I'm really excited ).
I don't want to cause any war I'm solely...
Is someone aware of any online deals willing to sell Mac Pro Cases that would be fully dissembled so shipping all the way from the US into Arg would not be that expensive ?
Thing is I am not looking into something fancy ( willing to assemble /make a sleeper computer).
EDIT : in Arg there is...
Darunion Thanks a bunch. Problem is how to source them both reliably and cheap. Arg customs is something I cannot describe and somehow Arg gov is allowing imports from China.
Guys haa anyone came across any cells that can be recommended (18650's) maybe by someone like great Scott ?
I'm based in Argentina and getting good stuff from Amazon /US is nearly impossible or i got to pay a lot whilst AliExpress takes forever but they finally delivered a couple of items I've...
Indeed , it looks like most are using loads of servers rather than taking it as a hobby /ways to learn a bit about Linux and so on.
What sort of put me off is that most team members (don't get me wrong I do have very good friends from mj ) like to hide their findings / providers /tricks/...
I happen to participate in a project that's DC but that's to create a map of the internet.
A few days ago I asked myself if I should leave the team i crawl for (old from called xs which I no longer visit ) i did have quite nice experiences but that was a while back and last I checked forum...
I've not got used to my MBP 2018 .for some odd reason when I make use of adapters for two extra screens they would power off for a few secs if I were to touch the HDMI cable .
It does also run quite hot and it's battery does not last much :/
Id use something like bgp.tools to better diagnose .
Is this provider available in your area ?
https://www.toast.net/internet/qualify-high-speed
Iirc it's att (I'm not from the US).
Thanks for you input Keljian I guess I would also need to study how to point antennas in this very rural spot. TBH my buddy and myself need do some stuff that's quite complex as there is no electricity so there are many aspects to be taken care of.
Great Scott is awesome ( somehow unrelated ...
Hey is there anyone making use of Lora at the moment?
Its raised my attention but I'd been playing with lots of thing :
Docker/k8, ansible, raspberry pis, cameras and some other things.
I would like to use it to connect two very distant points in a rural area where there is no signal at all...
My understanding is that upcloud is quite expensive compared to traditional hosts (not cloud like as linode, do, aws).
The trade-off of those is that you may spend hours or days researching which hosts are legit and which might have cracked licenses, shady past or simply too new.
Do you mean the vms costs?
If so which provider/s do you happen to make use of and which regions?
I'm using a fairly set of new providers :
Naranja tec (they have vms in nl I got in bf) if my memory serves me correctly I pay something like 15 bucks / year
Host hatch Zurich ( iirc also got it...
I've two active vms staking with 2k worth of pre moreover I've some coins being generating (a tad less then 100) as I've started using their search engine myself.
At the moment to be able to have a node be staking you need to have 4k being staked per vm.
Installation is super easy ( via...
Guys I'm considering to get a powerbank for my MBP 2018 asI have an anker powerbank ( if my memory serves me ok it's ~18000 mah )which does not not have PD and according to a friend of mine that works for Applel I should be getting one that has PD.
What do you guys think , should I risk to use...
Not a single official one.
Closest may be 10 thousand kilometers North.
I've ordered the i9 version with 32gb.
Edit
This is a long term investment and I'm quite sure I won't use as much resources as it has, even when throttled.
I'll review that
Sad as I'll need it to be purchased prior to May . No video editing here. Just Xcode and such. not willing to take it out in my back pack that much as soon as someone sees the apple logo ( no matter how old the product is ) it could lead into serious trouble
about temps ...
Guys I've been Googling and asking some guys I know if they knew if it's even announced to be really made that we will someday have impi or similar for ryzen platform but all I could find was a prototype :
Tomcat EX S8015
I'd be very interested to grab some thread rippers wirh ipmi ;)
Regards
Hey guys I'm considering to buy the mbp wirh 15" and 32gb of ram
One of the things that sets me back is reading those horror stories of people getting their legs burnt, the mbp being underclocked and so on.
As a friend of mine will bring in down to Latin America I need to be sure it does not...
Guys sorry to resurrect such topic but is there such thing a(64 gb ddr4) to upgrade the mini 2018 version ?
I've read some other forums and saw crucial's 32 gb ram at a decent price. I have 16gb on my mini 2012 and I need to keep having an eye on the amount of tasks I am performing not to get...
