Figure this forum would be good for getting folks with experience in both Apple and Windows hardware to be able to enlighten me a little on this.
Background I'm a sys engineer for 20+ years , built tons of PC's , have had some Macbook Pro's in the past I loved etc , been away from Apple...
I know this is a CPU/system question but figured it would fit here as tightly related to the new 3080/3090.
In my case I've got a 7700k/32GB RAM/Samsung 970 TB drive with a first gen Pascal Titan that OC'd nicely , and the system has done well for 3+ years. It's 100% for gaming , I've got...

"A $10 gift card to ThinkGeek or Domino’s Pizza costs 14,000 credits, which would take an optimized rig running around the clock nearly a month to accrue."
Nah , this won't make...
I've about talked myself out of passing down my current gaming rig to my son for another year (his is fine too atm)
7700k at 4.8 (did 5 fine but way cooler with zero tweaks needed for 4.8)
32GB DDR
Samsung 970 1TB m2
Titan Pascal (hits 1975 without issue)
I game on my BenQ 32" 4k at 60hz and...
Available from Amazon in Oct 10th , really like the smaller form factor
Just wondering if anyone has built an OC gaming rig with itx form factor , I won’t use more than the one PCI slot for video card as it’ll be an external USB sound card anyway
Finally given up on ITX build getting 32MB of RAM at decent speeds (unless anyone knows of one that will safely do that ), and finally want to build a Ryzen box for my secondary/work/misc one at home (already have 7700k one for gaming).
Wanted to see if anyone knew of the best bet to currently...
Was curious if there were any matx boards that can do 2666 or 3000 for RAM with 32 GB?
Want to build a small , just to fool around with really ) matx Ryzen 1700 , but with 32 GB running at decent speeds.
Just seeing all the RAM issues makes me leery of trying it.
B350 or X370.
Curious if anyone could narrow down what models they would recommend for what I'm looking for in this case. Noted in another thread I've got two BenQ3201's for bit over a year now and enjoyed both. Hooked up to separate computers, one's for PC gaming , other's for work.
Wouldn't be looking at...
I've got 2 Maxwell Titan X's in SLi , and was hoping to ditch SLI this round , but there's still not a true 4k card out , and it wouldn't be much of a use to change right now.
While I've been team Green for a while , I've gone over to Team Red (9800Pro long ago etc) when it was obviously the...
Sold my Asus ROG w/880m few months back and been using one of my extra's for work , as wanted to get a new replacement.
I've got a desktop gaming system , but as an engineer who also teaches Cisco/Networking classes a couple nights a week , there's often time for gaming while at work at...
About to finally get a Seiki 4k 40" and build a new rig selling my current one. The whole Pascal will be x10 faster etc etc from Nvidia has me throwing my hands up as I was ready to pull the trigger on two Titan X's when in stock at Amazon.
But it got me to thinking I can get two 980's for...
Was doing a little research in case I go for an x99 setup and ran across folks on the EVGA forums complaining about not being able to use their SB Zx series cards in the EVGA x99 board.
Then someone said some of the Asus x99 folks were having same issue with it and another brand PCI-e sound...
I've enjoyed reading the threads about past video cards from names to your first.
I was curious what was everyone's "longest lasting gaming card".
Not as in still physically running but chokes on games , but what card lasted you the longest without upgrading where you were still quite...
This is a subject I've often wondered if I'm alone on , and no hurt feelings if so , might be I'm just the old and boring pc gamer who is solo on this opinion. Figured this crowd would be a good one to finally ask this question of.
I'm not at all disparaging the technology , or their ability to...
I've got a 3770k , 16GB RAM , Vanilla EVGA Titan , 256MB SSD + 500GB HD main gaming/work rig approaching two years old
I'm going to relegate to a secondary rig that will likely sell later in year. I work as an IT engineer and it's easy enough to sell my rigs every couple years for not too...
Saw this on a few major sites like PCgamer and others , figured might be worth it to post here as seems like quite a few people are getting hit.

About to make the plunge for a 4k screen of some sort. Also building a new rig , my current is a Dell 3014 with a single vanilla EVGA titan.
I've like the setup quite a bit , but am fairly sure to run 4k games reasonably (I don't mind no AA at 4k res and bumping shadows down a bit ) I likely...
