You are correct, it's home theater. However, being as there is no content, it needs to be an edit monitor too.....(still looking for 8k monitors lol !!!) I'm working on the link between my video editing rig, and the new tv. ---- I think I have a lot to learn.

I'm curious about wireless 8k/ range extenders and 8k. I run a 4k over cat6 link between comp and TV (range extender), it's flawless. I've always wanted to eliminate the wire. Thoughts ?

I can only assume massive file storage systems. An 8k camera recording 60 FPS is doing about 2 billion pixels/sec. ----------------------- Those RED camera's have thermal exhaust ports, because they use active cooling for that record rate. They use dual CFExpress I believe as memory. :ROFLMAO:

Yep, the 'production' 4k monitors at B+H are $15-35k, There are no listings for 8k. I hafta say, I was quite surprised by the prices on the RED 8k cameras. You could get into those for about $20,000, which is quite cheap, given the cost of any production grade cameras. Certainly not 'hobbyist'...

My TV guy says yes the successor to the 2023 Sony Z9K is coming, but not out yet. 8K miniLED , but 75" is the smallest. Expect 10k$

I like the scalable stuff for sure. There are still connectors on my mobo I have never made functional. (supermicro X11DPI-nt, Xeon gold 6144's) The supermicro X13 series Motherboards are sooooo sweet, I look forward to the new Xeon 6 ones. (y)
